Ware's Demolition said a land bank representative was on-site at the time and never said it was the wrong house.

Tear down the wrong house, can't get more work from the business he put into serious legal liability, so calls in a race specific special interest group? To do what exactly?

I think the real issue here is not the house itself, but the carelessness that led to the demolition of the wrong house. This time they were lucky, the house was vacant and realistically, had a negative value. What if the next time, this contractor were to demolish an occupied house?

Lmao, why is the NAACP even involved. This dude messed up, tore down the wrong house. It was his responsibility to verify that hes at the right jobsite, it's his responsibility before doing work that he is doing it at the right place. He demonstrated that he is not trustworthy and does not conduct due diligence to ensure he does the right thing and very easily could have put the business in a legal liability for his mistake. Not only should he get no more work, but he should have any licenses he has revoked

Why the bleep is this an NAACP issue? This is an insurance liability issue. - The NAACP "insist" the guy be given more work? Why? To REWARD incompetence? That only works for law enforcement and elected politicians.
  • the homeowner got free work done, but had it been a repairable house, it would have been a problem, so yes the people involved should be prevented from having another accident
  • a lot of places clearly mark house for demo its pretty much impossible to accidently knock down the wrong one.`

Do they not post notices all over buildings slated for demolition? How do these people keep tearing down the wrong houses? If nothing is posted I would make some phone calls to verify before proceeding.

Maybe if he had torn down a home someone was living in or which was in good enough condition to put a family into then it would be a story and provide justification for them not hiring his company anymore. However, the owner had an unoccupied shanty of a house which was basically condemned. The owner should thank the demo company for the free removal of the house which would have cost him thousands to get torn down. Now he has clean land to build a new house on or clear land to sell for a higher price without a shack on it.
  • "Could end up in a law suit" That is an understatement. Guess they are going to build them a BRAND NEW HOUSE because that is the least I would accept

What does the NAACP have to do with a home being demolished?
  • Owner should have to be present for demolition. Taken down wrong house seems to be common
  • @carpballet
His name is Ransom Ware. Lol times 100000 Why in gods name was the friggin’ NAACP contacted?
  • @missyrabbit5250
Where was the boss? Don't they make sure their people are doing the right job at the right site?
  • @Desvelar
All these commenters keep missing the fact that some supervisor approved it. So either the supervisors at vault or he's at home. That's for them and their company to handle.
  • @sinebar
Now they're playing the blame game. Well they're all to blame.
