  • First on the beach. First up the ladders. Last to retreat. What a man.
  • "Imagine a king who fights his own battles. Wouldn't that be a sight?" Stannis showed us that sight.
  • @Cassius4
They make Stannis seem so evil in the show, in the books they really show how righteous he was. They also don’t show how evil his enemies truly are.
  • "I have felt from the beginning that Stannis was a greater danger than all the others combined" - Tywin Lannister. After everything, Stannis is the last king still alive.
  • Ned died for stannis .. and stannis died trying to free winterfell .. love how this show works
  • “Your bravery made him look weak…he’ll punish you for it. I don’t punish men for bravery. I reward them.” King Stannis
  • “I will not become a page in someone else’s history book.” This show had such great dialogue, I liked it much more than the fighting
  • I can never forgive the showrunners for massacring such a complex character. I dare say Stannis is the magnum opus of GRRM's written characters (or one of), yet D&D never understood him. They say he is rigid and inflexible, yet most of his actions show otherwise; he is the most flexible king we had in the story so far.
  • They did him dirty in the show. He is much more badass and likeable in the books.
  • Renley was a fool not to take the deal that Stannis offered him.
  • @laphonz
Let's go, this bad boy got 2 million! I still watch this in 2024. Best Stannis tribute EVER
  • @HitBoxMaster
The TV series did Stannis so fucking dirty it's downright criminal
  • @risto4216
I'm so glad Stannis is alive and still going strong in the books and preparing to drown some freys.
  • "He inspires no love or loyalty." Perhaps true but still, Stannis evokes a yearning for improvement in people. A grim realizm and a dedication to prepare for that. People may not love him or feel loyalty towards him but when people look at Stannis they grit their teeth and push through hardship because there is a man who does his duty despite the odds. When people wish an end for it all they look at him and say "Well, he stands up."
  • Imagine if Renly wasn’t so attached to being a king himself. If he had just joined up with his brother. They’d have the largest army in the kingdom and likely even win at Kings Landing. He would even be made Stannis’s heir and if he wanted too. Could have simply pulled a Lanester and had his brother killed at some point after the war so that he could be king. He might have had a point. A good soldier might not make a great king. But he makes for a great strategist who can win. After all, Robert was known for being a great warrior and a bad king. (Least by ruling standards) Renly would have so many advantages if he just accepted his brothers right to rule and moved on. Likely even being king himself soon after...
  • Stannis was in the middle of the most important military campaign of his life, attempting to fight the most powerful House in the seven kingdoms and losing. Yet he still chose to go North to help the nights watch in their time of greatest need. Stannis was the truest king the Seven Kingdoms could have hoped for, maybe only surpassed by Jon or Ned.
  • "We march to victory, or we march to defeat..., but we go forward, only forward" ~Stannis Baratheon
  • Stannis is one of my favorites in a very competitive field. No one other than Ned excels him; at best they could just equal him.
  • Probably the best king of the show. Didn't only promise help for the Wall, but actually went and helped the Night's Watch middle of his war campaign. Which ended up costing him the crown. Without him Westeros would of been in big trouble.
