Thank you all for helping me pass 10,000 subs! Please enjoy this very casual video of me answering your questions while packing for a race at the eleventh hour.

These were great questions and I had a lot of fun doing this kind of interaction with you guys. I'm looking forward to doing more stuff like this in the future.

I’m glad he wore his PCUs. I might not have recognized him otherwise
  • in regards to cold weather training: I live in PNW so it doesn't get to cold, but a month back it was like 10f so I decided to go for a few hour hike with my rucksack to get some training it. It felt completely fine, great, not many problems at all until i stopped moving. there are so many small random things you don't expect, like the isobutane stove having low fuel pressure cuz the cold, water bladder nipple freezing up if you don't use it for a few minutes (have to massage the ice out), trying to collect water without getting your hands wet, water purifier freezing up, being barely able to open a buckle. it was a really valuable, humbling experience. I try to pack to much cold weather gear, cuz you can survive days without water, weeks without food, but maybe only hours if it gets to cold, especially if you manage to get wet and cold.

For British kit, grab yourself a Buffalo shirt (or the Arktis equivalent, I think they call it Mammoth?). You'll love it.

Are you in New England? Do an M-65 video before the end of cold weather please? Keep the great content coming.

I'm curious, do you have past military experience this has stemmed from or have you just picked up this interest?
