It's painful how slowly the life bar begins to deplete against higher lvl opponents. You never know if its gonna hit for 10% or 100%

Ugh Snorlax was the real mountain to climb in this battle. I had more Pokemon fall to him than the LV81 Pikachu.

I started playing this game at the age of 4 with blue version, that was the shiz. around 6 I picked up silver, and beat it. When I traveled back to kanto I thought I broke the game. When I reached Red, I expected a congrats you beat the game...then I battled him, got wrecked, and trained harder than ever to beat him. When this music came on, I was nervous as hell, sweating, heart racing, THIS WAS MY CHILDHOOD.

I remember battling red for the first time and thinking, "WTF?? His pikachu is the highest level of like anything you encounter, yet its so easy to take down in comparison to the others!"

This is one of my favourite battles in all the pokemon games. I just beat red with a team in their 50s, it wasn't easy but I managed. I hope they make him even harder in SS/HG
