The Rare and Elusive Maned Wolf | How Nature Works | BBC Earth

I live in the region where a few maned wolves inhabit, the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. There's an old catholic sanctuary in the in the mountains that everyone can visit, it's called "Santuário do Caraça" and is a natural heaven. One of the sanctuary priest's tradition is to feed the local maned wolf at night (you can find videos of on YouTube), it attracts tourists and helps a lot with preservation efforts. The maned wolf is extremely rare, bealtiful and has maybe the most unique vocalization in the animal world.

Getting to see one of these in real life was an amazing experience

The name of "lobeira fruit" was given because of the great interest that lobos (wolfs) have on them.
