What makes us happy and healthy as we go through life?
If you want to invest in "the good life," where should you put your time and energy? Robert Waldinger answers these questions with lessons learned from a 75-year-long study of adult life that started in the late 1930s and continues to this day.

Robert Waldinger is a psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, and Zen priest. He directs the Harvard Study of Adult Development at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and teaches at Harvard Medical School.

I love how he just casually says one member of this study grew up to be President of the United States and just moves on

Before I saw this video I kinda figured it out. I figured most of my life Ive just been wanting to get rich... but then I asked myself, why rich....?  then I answered myself.. so people will like me and I can have more friends.   Ultimately having friends, building awesome experiences and memories with them is what I want at the end of the day(the end of my life)

And now for the long study of girls and women... and people from different cultures. So important to acknowledge the narrow parameters of this study - without detracting from its no doubt interesting insights.

Thank you ! This has changed the way i look on my relationships ! Many seems to forget what this video is about and go around in a haze and forget to appreciate the relationships the got in life! They forgot how important the simple thing: Spending time with friend/family, is! When nothing insane wild extreme expensive lifechanging party or arrangement happens its not good enough - A walk in the woods, going to take a swim, make food together and all those simpel things are long forgotten and how important they are! I feel like making this my small religion and try to convince people around me how important this it! Deep respect for this study also ! Again thank you !
