I think the thing that comes through so clearly in this interview is her genuineness. A lot of people seem to project a caricature of themselves for the public. With Erykah, you can tell she is just being true to herself.

I remember her when I was a little girl. She would come to my aunt's Thrift store in Dallas. I remember there being a spiritual essence about her. I didn't realize she was about to become a huge star. The world truly is small.
