First we try El Merendero near that Malagueta Beach and enjoy amazing razor clams and fried redfish

Next off to La Campana for more seafood. Here we try stuffed mussels, bocarones (fried anchovies), Huevas (fish roe and ovaries?) and fried octopus (polpo frito.)

We stop at Atarazanas market in Malaga to try Lomo en Manteca, a traditional pork dish preserved in it's own lard. Spoiler, it's so much better than it sounds!

Next up is lunch at Meson La Alegria where Geoff gets a little adventurous!
We try snails (Caracoles en salsa), Tripe in a chickpea stew (Callos a la andaluza), Deep fried pork and cheese rolls (Flamanquin), anchovies in vinegar (Boquerones en vinagre) & meatballs (Albondigas con tomate)

Next up is Dinner at Casa Lola, a hugely popular restaurant in Malaga. Everyone we met recommended this Malaga institution to us and now we know why, the food was amazing! We had Carne Mechaita, Chicharrones fritos and a wonderful red pepper salad.

Last, but certainly not least, we had to try a dick waffle at The Dick Town. For whatever reason we've been seeing this kind of place around Spain, so why not? La pollerìa de Màlaga - www.facebook.com/dicktownofficial/

You were close to Torremolinos! You gotta read Michener's "The Drifters". Great book about a bunch of Americans travelling the world adrift....set in the 60s...fun times

No butter when we fried food in Spain, NEVER NEVER NEVER !! just olive oil. Glad you enjoy my town. Antonio Banderas is from Malaga and owns a few restaurants there.

The Atarzanas market looks really neat. It's always fun when you are able to pick up something new to try and take it back with you to see how it is yourself. We've always wanted to make our way to spain, but haven't had the chance to visit yet, but certainly know there are many great dishes to try! Anyways, love the dialog and presentation here you guys! Just subscribed, and we look forward to seeing more of your adventures! 😊

Guys on my first time watching you've totally scored with the lomo en manteca. Looking for recipes now - it looks like a spicy version of the French rillettes de porc, which I made this weekend! I was planning to go to Malaga in January, and you guys have made that a certainty. Thank you - and I'll keep watching. :X

Con la cantidad de sitios que habeis ido a comer y cenar, en tantas ciudades españolas, veo, que no habeis probado uno de los platos más maravillosos de la gastronomía española.. HUEVOS ROTOS

I´m headed to Málaga on 25 August 2023 and THANK YOU! I´m one of those few-friend weirdos who has abandoned English, my mother tongue, and converted myself into a Spaniard so, most Americans get on my nerves with their horrible Spanish and lack of European awareness HOWEVER, I love you two! I really do. You´re everything I´m not. You´re not pretentious, you´re not trying to be someone you weren´t born as and, you are displaying so much respect. THANK YOU! I know everywhere you went, you left a wonderful representation of America. I would starve before I´d eat tripe or snail and I found it enjoyable and hilarious that you bawked on Fish row. That was AWESOME! The Mofongo from Puerto Rico comes from that pork sandwich dish you had and it is stupidly wonderful, as you clearly demonstrated. Very enjoyable, you are an inspiration to me. You didn´t once say Gluten Free or anything weird like that. You didn´t bitch about the wine. It was a great video. Yeah, I´m gay and old enough not to give a damn so, I´m getting me some Polla waffle and doing my Rocky Horror demo right there!
