  • Welcome to the Peak District Jiffy, there is two types of weather on Kinder, its either bad weather or winter, but still a fantastic place. You found my Chinese Wall campsite spot on, but not so good if it was as windy as it looked. I was up there in the middle of the plateau last week and it was the first time I have packed everything up in the morning in the dry for a long time. A lot of the area is boggy all year round and covered in thick tussocky grass or heather so not easy to pitch. I think Andy Beavers said there were some good spots right at the top of Fairbrook Clough, that will be OK for your next visit. Nice to talk and glad my video inspired you to visit our beautiful Paek District, all the best Pat
  • Hi fella, first time on your channel. Really easy to watch. I just got the enan and I can't wait to take it out. I used to have the Fjallraven Abisko Lite 1 and I've been looking for a lighter 3 season replacement ever since. Keep up the great work (Subbed). ATB Bob.

TIP: For high winds buy a long sectional shock-corded pole to run UNDER the fly and out to grommets set into nylon weaving. -> Securely sew the grommeted webbing to the end peaks. -> Cut the "Crossing Pole" (as Tarptent calls them) to a length that gives good tension under the fly. ->** Sew and seam seal double-sided Velcro straps under the fly, one midway from each end. (These are shortened electronics cable wraps) Best to place self adhesive reinforcement circles of Tenacious Tape on both sides of the fly where these straps are sewn. The Velcro straps keep the pole stable in high winds. A third strap can be sewn at the ridge pole location (and seam sealed!) I've done this on my TARPTENT MOMENT DW and is works wonders in high winds, along with the 4 factory stake loops equidistant around the fly hem.

Ahh so you took the plunge with the Enan in the end then, good man! I've yet to try mine in anything other than fair weather so it's really useful to see it used in anger during a bit of a 'Jiffy' coming in across the Cheshire Plain. I've had problems with Hille pegs up on the peat bogs - I think I'm going to look at something a bit more substantial after this too. Great vid, loved it - and with you totally on Pat D, what a ledge - I think that bridge should be called 'Pat Bridge. forever more! Cheers Jiffy, all the best. Rich.

I added an extra guy line either end of my Enan which makes a difference when pegged out in V orientation, also worth fitting guy lines to the end tabs in strong winds. To help keep the back wall from blowing onto the inner I sometimes wedge my walking poles between inner and outer, this works and next time I will have a plastic tie to better lock the pole handles together, also plan on packing extra guys to steady the tent's pole, pegged out in a V should limit latteral movement in storms. Using pegs with an attached loop facilitates double pegging in soft ground, just put a second peg through the loop behind the first. For me a big difference between Akto and Ennan is the less restricted view from the Ennan, makes for more pleasant camping experience. Thanks for the nice video and happy camping this summer.

My favorite spot to camp is underneath a canopy of trees. I just love being in the woods. But after seeing this video I'd sure love to camp there. Even with the wind, I'd love it. Great Video. Thank you.. !!!

It’s a nightmare setting off in the rain. I don’t mind if it rains when you’re off and away. But setting off in it is tough. So I take my hat off for that. I carry 6 delta pegs if you watch my kit load out video I show you how to pack them. They’re truly game changing. Great tents the enan my mate Rob has one. I like it. I’ll gladly allow you to take over as the new “rain man” mate. You’ve earned it 😂 good video. Cheers. 👍

I've been thinking about buying the Enan, however, I been looking for a video such as yours because I'm wondering how the tent deals with strong, blustery winds. Your video answered my unasked question about wind. I'm convinced the Enan will provide MEeee shelter from the strong blustery winds I encounter at elevations above 9,000' in the high Sierra's between Nevada & California. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, for taking your time, equipment, & effort to share your real-life outdoor adventure with MEeee. It's videos like this that bring out the best in YouTubers. As a show of appreciation, it's now my turn to share with you when it comes to cooking & eating. Take Freeze Dried food out of the foil pack & put it in 1 qt ziplock baggies, then put those into your backpack. When you are ready to eat, heat water in a 750ml Titanium cup, then insert the cup into a home-made Reflectix Koozie you've made, pour the food into the boiling water, & after the 10-minute re-hydration, you'll find the food almost TOO HOT to eat, right down to the last sporkfull. No long-handled spork needed. Here is a link to photos of what I'm talking about: https://www.flickr.com/photos/bc_az/albums/72157717283951098 Did you have the footprint under the tent floor? The guylines are 2mm. Have you thought about or considered the thicker 3mm guylines? Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.
  • @guppyfisk
Thx a lot for your report and sharing your tour and impressions about the Enan🙏 Thanks to your suggestions I've ordered the Enan today, (hard to get one) it will be my compagnon for paragliding tours in the future. Best Frank
  • @EwanGoesHiking
You weren't kidding when you said it was windy! Looks like the Enan held up well.
  • A good test for the new tent and some lovely photography. Well done. Regards Keith
  • Hey, I’ve watched nearly all of your videos. Really enjoy the content. Great hikes, tent set up, little bit of everything in your videos. Keep up the good effort. Looking forward to seeing you out with your boy and what adventures you both go on. I’ve got my daughter hooked on hiking but not quite there on wild camping yet (she won’t go wild without a toilet). Can’t wait to take her out to Wales soon. Thanks again
  • Great Video Patrick, the sound when wind is howling is sometimes a great effect to show people what you are putting up with. I have the Fjallraven Abisko Lite 1 and she holds up to the winds very well. Liked and Subscribed.
  • Picked a enan up just before the lockdown bit of a whim purchase was on discount from tiso £512 never seen hillebergs on sale 😲 only pitched it in the garden so far glad you uploaded this gives a bit of confidence in its wind performance cheers 😉
  • @get_outdoors
Good for you, I was intending to camp up at Fairbrook Naze with the TN Southern Cross, decided to postpone for a week 👍

  • @WildAstro
Nice one Jiffy - First time i've seen this film, not sure how it passed me by. Looks a cracking location mate and will definitely be heading up that way myself once lockdown is behind us. Thanks for sharing pal, see you soon!
  • Blimey jiffy, that was a wet and windy one mate. 😳. The conditions looked good to test out your tent mate. Thanks for sharing 😁
