Waiting is apart of our everyday lives, every desire we have is attached to a wait. On this Same Room Special Episode, Sarah Jakes Roberts and Essence Atkins join Stephanie Ike to discuss how we live between the gap of our desire and whether or not it’s fulfilled. Sarah Jakes Roberts is the founder of Woman Evolve, a movement designed to empower women to shatter the glass ceilings that once limited their ability to dream, grow, and change the world. Essence Atkins, is an actress we all know and love. From the Cosby Show, to Smart Guy, and Half and Half, she has continuously graced our screens teaching us the beautiful complexities that come out of family life, all the while off screen, being a woman who leads a life putting God first.

In this episode they will discuss how their seasons of waiting proved to be the place that held the keys to unlock their purpose.

  • I’m definitely going to start using “How is your Heart” instead of “How are you doing” ❤️

I love how Stephanie Ike asks her questions and then steps back to listen and let her guests speak. She doesn't feel the need to insert herself or her story at every turn of the interview. Lovely interview!
  • “When you are in your lowest moment, find someone to serve, because it reminds you, that you still have something to give.”

I didn’t realize Sarah Jake Roberts was only 31, she extremely wise beyond her years and exudes a high level of maturity and confidence. It’s incredible and she is a huge inspiration to me.

Who else was waiting for Pastor Sarah to look directly in the camera and say "I don't know who this is for..but I hear God saying".... lol I'm just throwing jokes...but anyway...I enjoyed this conversation.
  • In this interview, Essence sounds like she is really going through a tough period, God bless her soul, please give her the strength and wisdom to push through this season in her life. Essence, you are loved by the Almighty, all these worldly struggles are temporary...
  • Can we take the time to acknowledge how excellent the interviewer is . She was so engaged and thorough with her questions that she squeezed everything out of them.

God woke me up at 4:44 am this morning and I couldn’t go back to sleep. Prayed a little and God brought me to this video. I am currently in waiting, pruning, cocooning season. Even when I feel my loneliest he lets me know he is right here.
  • This is better than Red Table talk. We need MORE of this ladies. Love it!

"When we become stagnant, just like water, we start to stink." That was deep. 🙏🏾🙌🏾

YOOOOOOO "When we are waiting on something that we believe is gonna give us more worth or value, and we don’t receive it than it takes away from our worth or value!" BOOM! If that is not a word. I loved that sentence. It speaks exactly to the problem. That too often we desire something like a man or relationships because we believe it adds to our value as women and then when we don't get it we compare ourselves to others, thinking we are inferior or a failure. But Sarah is right IF YOU ARE BREATHING, YOU ARE VALUABLE!
  • When Essence said “waiting on myself with patience and not keeping a record of all my wrongs” Shuuu sis 🙆🏾‍♀️ read me then

I need so much more of these types of conversations. They just feed my soul. I wish I could have these types of convos with family and friends.
  • @KieshaDoubleU
“God is so for me that he would protect me from myself”🙌🏾 a Word.

This wasn’t just an interview, this was an anointed conversation. And so RIGHT ON TIME. Thank you ladies 🙏🏾❤️
  • The intro? Never idolize men , learn from them, give glory to God and then look beyond them .
  • I’m a student and I’ve been praying to God for scholarships for about a year. I’m still waiting and lately it’s been very discouraging and just confusing, especially in the midst of this pandemic where I really need help because my parents won’t be able to help with my tuition. Every time I think that that I’m qualified for something, it seems that someone else receives it. I was scrolling through Instagram and I found a post for this podcast. This is what I need🙌🏾
  • Sarah has a wealth of knowledge and wisdom far behold her years which is a blessing.
