The shelves turned out lovely! The stress about organizing your home is completely relatable.

Pro-tip: Always get at least one extra shelf when buying Billy bookcases. For some reason they only include 5 shelves and the spacing between them mean you end up with a lot of dead space otherwise. ETA: You have enough Penguin paperbacks to fill one whole shelf. If you move the shelves around a bit you could make just enough space for the smaller paperbacks to fit. Then you can make another shelf for the larger paperbacks. Now you should have enough room to add in another shelf level. I think it looks really good when all shelves across all bookcases are the same height in relation to each other but it does take a bit more fiddling with the organisation. I put my pretty books on display in from of my uglier books, that way I can cover them up and at the same time show off my pretty books. Your award needs to be center at eye level. You deserve that much.

I recently had to redo my whole library, in the midst of having additional things in the same room. It took a week and a lot of shuffling, bringing in additional bookcases and weeding through some books. I just got the books into place and then went back and restyled. That took the pressure off styling something and then having to demolish it so that things would fit. Being flexible was the order of the day. Take that with you as you do the rest of the house and you’ll have conquered it all sooner than you think.

Would love another organisation video for the other bookshelves, as I’m a fantasy reader myself! Also this is the first time I’ve come across your YouTube after following you on TikTok for a little while and love your longer form content! We get to see so much more of your personality, it’s lovely to watch! Side note: I loved watching your speechlessness at the end of this as someone who struggles to wrangle words together into a sentence quite often. I too am better in writing and this video made me feel less like a failure for not being able to speak too well sometimes.

Just stumbled across this video and as you organised your books it was making me think of my daughter, who's an ancient history graduate. She has a billy in her room full to bursting of ancient history and mythology texts as well as lots of other stuff too! Then when you showed your book and opened it up to Rhiannon it was even better, as that's her name 😊 Think I need to get her your book to add to the collection!

yay! love this and totally relate to the excitement + stress, lol! Last autumn I started redoing a room (my computer and tv/movie room) and only finished it in late February, which then lead to going through and completely reorganizing all my books and movies! I basically spent most of my free time in March doing that but I'm glad I took my time with it for it to feel finished. Well, finished for now. Adding more to my collections will mean maneuvering and shifting things around a bit. But I'm so happy with the redone room and most of the organization of my stuff!! :D One shelf looks just alright- could look worse- but ended up being mostly leftover titles that didn't necessarily go with others and that kind of look bad next to each other, lol. whatever comes next, I'm here for- another part of organizing and definitely a shelf tour!
