Do you know how the apostles died? Find out about the deaths of the 12 disciples and apostles of Jesus in the Bible.

The accounts of the deaths of Jesus' apostles largely come from early Christian traditions rather than biblical texts, except for James, son of Zebedee, and Judas Iscariot. While these traditions offer intriguing insights, they can't be equated with biblical authority. Furthermore, these accounts are often inconsistent, presenting varied stories of how each apostle met their end.

James was the first apostle martyred, killed by King Herod Agrippa I around 44 AD. Andrew, Peter's brother, was crucified on an 'X'-shaped cross in Greece. Philip's accounts are mixed; some say he was crucified, others say stoned, in Asia Minor. Bartholomew was possibly flayed alive, while Thomas is said to have been impaled in India. Simon the Zealot was reportedly martyred at an old age, and Matthew was likely killed in Ethiopia by the sword. Peter and Paul were both martyred in Rome, under Emperor Nero. Peter was crucified upside down at his request, and Paul was beheaded. John, the last apostle, died of natural causes but not before facing severe persecution. Judas, who betrayed Jesus, died by hanging himself. Above all, what's crucial is that these men devoted their lives to spreading the Gospel, understanding the cost of discipleship that Jesus often spoke about. Their sacrifices were made not for personal glory but to exalt the name of Jesus Christ.

The apostles would never accept terrible deaths like those, if they weren’t absolutely sure about the truth which resided in Christ. No matter how crazy you can be, in front of an atrocious imminent death from beheading or crucifixion, you’ll be forced to call what you preach a lie, even if it was true, let alone if it was a lie from the beginning. The fact that they decided to face that kind of death, means they 100% knew that Jesus is the son of God, waiting for them in paradise.
  • If I live I live for Christ, if I die I die for Christ. What shall separate us from the love of Christ?.

I wouldn't consider their deaths 'tragic.' But glorious.

It’s so sad when you see the way Jesus and the apostles died they accepted the ultimate sacrifice and because of that we are free to worship the Lord. Even after that people still won’t come to God . If death in Christ is my calling then let it be so

Don't focus on the tragedy of how they died because that only lasts a few moments, focus on how they loved God the father and Jesus our savior so much they were willing to give their lives to spread the very important message ❤ if you ever doubt God's existence or Jesus for that matter just remember it's the only religion that people get so angry about and will literally kill you if you preach it to anyone 🙏 ❤️ that tells you it's hated for a reason! It's real! Heaven is real and it's our true home❤ I can't wait to get there and finally see my savior and my father 😢❤ what a glorious day it will be ❤❤❤

Many pastors ain't preaching the kind of message this Apostles preach They're preaching prosperity rather than the end time message for a man souls to be safe ., Many pastors, God has left them
  • @isoobaalex942
It is amusing to hear that PETER pledged to be crucified upside down way different from his master, Peter indeed loved Jesus
  • @utmcjss1
I believe all the ones who call themselves apostles today, days should watch this video, because I don’t think anyone of them would go through what Jesus disciplines go through, they love life and like to live big may the lord help them.
  • In their time a lot of people struggling just to continue their faith while experiencing persecution but now a lot of countries that is open for Christianity but can’t even go to Church nor to pray. They will only remember God in their life when dying or having a big problems in life.
