Céline Dion and Jennifer Rush - The Power of Love
Lyrics:
The whispers in the morning
Of lovers sleeping tight
Are rolling by like thunder now
As I look in your eyes

I hold on to your whole body
And feel each move you make
Your voice is warm and tender
A love that I could not forsake

'Cause I'm your lady
And you are my man
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can

Lost is how I'm feeling lying in your arms
When the world outside's too much to take
That all ends when I'm with you

Even though there may be times
It seems I'm far away
Never wonder where I am
'Cause I am always by your side

'Cause I'm your lady
And you are my man
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can

We're heading for something
Somewhere I've never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I'm ready to learn
Of the power of love

The sound of your heart beating
Made it clear suddenly
The feeling that I can't go on
Is light years away

'Cause I'm your lady
And you are my man
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can

We're heading for something
Somewhere I've never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I'm ready to learn
Of the power of love

The power of love
The power of love

Sometimes I am frightened
But I'm ready to learn
Of the power of love

  • Celine Dion is a good singer, but Jennifer Rush absolutely stole my heart ❤️
  • @rplawrance
Jennifer Rush doesn't have to try here, she's a natural and owns this song. Her voice is pure class 🙏

I heard Celine's version first and loved it. Many years later I finally heard the original by Jennifer Rush and it blew me away. I didn't think anyone could do it better than Celine but I was wrong. Jennifer's powerful velvety voice is incomparable. My new favorite!!

I'm listening to Jennifer and to Celine singing "The power of love" today in 2024, a very beautiful song that I've ever lístened to it again and again hundreds of times !!! For me, Jennifer is really better than Celine today, anyway, they both are talented singers that I love their voices and the way they sing as well. Loving them both. ♥️♥️ Jan.04-2024 .

"The Power of Love" is a song written and originally recorded by American singer-songwriter Jennifer Rush in 1984. It was released as the fifth single from her debut album, Jennifer Rush (1984), and has since been covered by Air Supply, Laura Branigan, and Celine Dion.
  • It is clear that Celine and Jennifer performed at different venues, but whomever blended them together did a great job. It is just amazing to see and hear them both.

Hearing these two beside each other like this is truly beautiful ❤ Celine's version is pleasing to the ears, but Jennifer's is pleasing to the soul 🎶

I am a Canadian. And, Celine is a national treasure! But, Jennifer's voice is so mellow, forceful and full of true emotion. Even her movements are so smooth and in complete sync with the music and words. She seduces you with this song! Thank you both for this song!

Niemand kann Jennifer Rush kopieren, auch nicht Celine. Ihre Töne sind einzigartig und göttlich. Sie ist und bleibt die beste Sängerin in diesem Jahrhundert!❤❤❤

Both Jennifer and Celine bring something to the song, but Jennifer still gives me goosebumps.

I’m 84 and have heard them all, from Ginger Rogers to Edith Piaf to Vera Lynn. Then Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand, Dusty Springfield, Tammy Wynette, and Bonnie Tyler. Add Gloria Gaynor, Connie Francis, Laura Branigan, Linda Ronstadt, Rita Coolidge, Celine, Mariah, and Whitney and you have the lineup of the greats right up to Adele and Susan Boyle. But, Jennifer Rush has the all-around best female voice I have ever heard. Her operatic training adds an unmatched vibrato containing depth and texture. And she sings everything: opera, pop, rock, and ballads in English, Spanish, German, and Hungarian. She has written or co-written the lyrics and music for many of her songs, done duets with Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras, Elton John and Brian May—sorry—Sir Brian May, and performed live all over the world—but not in America, except in March and April 1986 on the Carson show and the Dick Clark Show; that’s it. Why is she the best? Effortless high range: (look at Celine’s cover of Jennifer’s “Power of Love” to see the ease with which Jennifer handles the highest notes.) Listen to “Who Wants to Live Forever” (with or without Brian—Sir Brian—May) as well as “Stronghold”, “Another Way”, “Hero of a Fool”, “I come Undone” and many more. With her operatic training (her father, Maurice Stern (Mauro Lampi) and step-mother Lily Loving) she developed a superior vibrato, appropriate body language, and perfect interpretation, and because she wrote or co-wrote most of her songs, she injects them with a personal load of musical endorphins that hit your ears and your heart at the same time.[ Yes. If Jennifer had decided to live her life in the US, she would still be in Las Vegas or on tour.
