During the week Jimmy was in hospice, Paul McCartney, the man who is consistently voted the greatest living composer, flew to sing to him.

He didn't need no stinkin' number one singles. He's just a number one guy!

I’ve seen Jimmy in concert nearly 100 times, have all his albums. I’m a Parrot Head all the way.

As I write this, there are 101 dislikes. 101 people who live in a VERY sad world. How anyone could not like this guy and just feel happy with his music is too hard to imagine.

He’s one of the most brilliant marketers of a generation. He literally made his brand chilling on a beach. Excellent businessman

He’s proof that we shouldn’t take life too seriously. His music takes me to such a happy place 😊💕

Rest in peace, Jimmy. I know you've finally found that lost shaker of salt.

I'm a hotel driver in Hawaii and I play Jimmy live in Hawaii everyday non-stop and he really brings in the tips! Mahalo Jimmy 🤙🏽

A big part of his success was not only in his music and his entertaining ability, but in his wonderful, down to earth, nice personality. Unlike most entertainers, he never let all of the success go to his head. What a guy! We need many more like him.

RIP Jimmy. You may have passed, but your music will live on forever.

I'm from Belgium and had never heard of this man. I don't think people in Europe have. After watching about 10 youtube videos I'm impressed. He had a huge following in America

Lisa Davis In 1972 JB came to play at a coffee house in Bryn Mawr, PA and I found out and gathered about 20 friends from Bay Head, NJ to come up to see him. We were the only ones there. He hung out with us and after the show he agreed to go down to the shore and party with us. We followed his career and then when he started playing larger venues in Camden NJ he told the story of our meeting up at the Main Point. He always made a fuss over us and dedicated my favorite song... Come Monday. This man is a true gentleman and a talent so huge there is no way to describe. Our life was....before Jimmy and after Jimmy.
  • My first experience seeing Jimmy Buffett was an early 70s show where he opened up for a pianist named Billy Joel in the Jacksonville University gym. During "God's Own Drunk" when he gets to the line "and that's when I first saw the bear" somebody in a bear suit ran out onstage. Jimmy was laughing so hard he stopped playing the song until he could compose himself. Buffett and Joel both hit it big a few years later. On a side note, I bought the A1A album solely for the cover without having heard a single note from it. That just looked like the perfect life.

So crazy that he mentioned how high stress laborers sometimes listen to his music, what got me into jimmy buffet and watching this video was working long hours in an intense environment that lead to a lot of depression and anxiety, but when I crank “Changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes”, it all just seems to melt away. Wish I could thank this man for bringing me a little peace when I need it most.

I don't think I've ever heard the term "Escapism" but boy, Jimmy nailed it. Barefoot on stage at 58 years old; you gotta love the dude.
  • @unclemikeb
He does so much more than play music. He cuts up, makes jokes, he entertains and makes people happy. That's why people love him and his music. People like to kick back, have fun and forget their troubles.
  • The Captain and the Kid I would say have finally reunited, Rest in Paradise Jimmy.

Rest In Peace, Jimmy. I have loved his music for many years. That is an incredible documentary. Well done!
