  • Thank you Sorin for posting this video and your time spent looking at my board. As usual, I have learnt a lot from this video, and I can't believe I didn't see your previous content based on this exact motherboard! I didn't realise the HUAWEI MateBook was the same as the Honor MagicBook, but all in all a valuable lesson on patience required instead of jumping to conclusions. My actions now are to 1. Order a USB-C Meter, 2. Order some of your ROSIN Flux / Low Melt Solder, and 3. to always check your channel first when I am stuck!🤣Hopefully next time I can use a lower temperature on my hot air station without melting the plastic. 😀

James did good. Like you say, everyone has to do a first charging port.

That is EXACTLY the way to build confidence in someone who is learning! Well done Sorin!!! So many forums, or online groups literally ridicule new beginners for their work or questions and I find it disgusting and disrespectful, considering each and every one of us has been a beginner at everything we do. Thank you for setting such a great example.
  • Hi Sorin, good Job to explaning James's mistake and supporting him, another One learned bye Francesco Timpano from Florence Italy
  • Nice work Sorin as usual. And well done James for making a good attempt.
  • @GROGGALORE
Well said: judge (someone) on your own mistakes.

The delight of a proud teacher. Thanks Sorin for being a good teacher
  • @dmisi1
the most important thing what we can learn from you the honestity
  • I always say "I learn everything by mistake"! Usually it is by a mistake I made (those I remember very well). SOMETIMES I get lucky and learn from someone else's mistake. So, don't ever be afraid to make mistakes. Learn from them. But never be afraid to make them. KEEP LEARNING!!!
  • I picked up a free Samsung 32inch tv with an issue, would come on eventually if left alone. I'm just a beginner really, Though did some research before getting involved, turns out the Hybrid capacitors under the shield on the the main board are the issue, so I bought a replacement set, there was one outside the shield shorted to ground, maybe that was the main problem but I replaced them all any way and it's working perfect. I use it as a big PC monitor. Removing those type of capacitors was problematic, I ripped a trace on one of them, fixed with a strand of solder wick, fear of one exploding in my face is real.
  • Hello🤝good job Sorin end good job James he who does nothing makes no mistakes👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👋👋👋👋

14:47 it got pretty hard to get sn60pb40 in eu, I was happy yesterday that the solder I bought on ebay stayed molten at 190 and the flux core also was okay
  • @agsdoom
How do you we know when a laptop needs the battery to work and when doesn't? What to look for in schematic/circuits on the board? Always a great content Sorin 👏🏻
  • Sometimes you have to learn from your mistakes - as long as the next time you dont make the same mistake then you're learning and gaining experience!
  • @wisher21uk
Nice job Sorin sometimes a second opinion helps, and James ‘high five fella’ well done
  • @SidneyCritic
Kero or brake clean and a strong surface spray(Nifti) will clean that flux, I have to use all 3 and more to get Deoxit rosin flux off.
