  • Nicely treated! Very precise surgery, thanks for sharing and happy growing 😊.
  • Hi Nina:_OrNinja:... Excellent video!👍 Catching the infection early is essential to saving the pseudobulbs. Hope you are having a blessed Sunday! Sherrii :_Ninja::_Orchid:❤️
  • AWESOME and very helpful and informative tutorial video Nina :-D and its so good that the Pseudobulb can be saved by cutting out the rot and saving it from spreading with the cinnamon powder, thanks so much for sharing this fantastic video with us, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Spain for a fantastic weekend XXXX <3
  • Hi Nina. Thanks for this interesting video, it’s vital to know how to catch these infections the way you’ve shown before you lose most of the pseudobulb. I received an Oncidium that had holes everywhere and when I complained to the owner of the nursery he sent me a replacement which wasn’t much better. I spent the best part of 2 years cutting away rotten bulbs before it finally went in the bin and didn’t infect anything else, (and lost no sleep over it either).
  • 🦒🦒💐 Hey doctor, surgery went well and the patient will recover completely. Wouldn't it be nice if we all lived closer and could make an appointment with you, being able to bring our orchids to you in person for diagnosis and treatment? 😅 Happy weekend to you 😘😘😘 Over here, winter is back, it's rainy, windy and cold. The worst is the wind, making it feel even cooler 😢
  • @JuliesOrchids
Really great video. I love the 'corkscrew' method. Great job.
  • @denisesase
Awww, so sorry it happened on the new growths, but it's great that you've treated the problem now! ❤

Hope it works for you very interesting washing you do that thanks a lot❤ not very nice here today rain and heavy rain tomorrow as well. Oh wow flushed all my plants out today as I said I was going to didn’t take too long. Happy with that since see you later.😊😊❤
  • @Orquideascristy
Thank you Nina. Always learning from you and loosing the fear. 😅
  • This would have been a good time to get creative and have your daughter involved. Lay out a tray of tools, you're the doctor, she's the nurse and do an operating room scenario. You know, ask the nurse for the scalpel, she hands you the knife, etc.

The same thing happened to the bottom of a flower spike for a mini noID phal this year. I filled the small infection with cinnamon and the spike continued to grow and now it is blooming (very dark purple, almost black petals with a white/pink lip. The shape of the petals is also different). The infection was just below the last node so I was worried it was going to spread down into the orchid. I think it started from me spraying the top of the pot with water and it must have stayed on the developing spike for too long.
  • @YnseSchaap
Infections like that are treated with Dragon Blood, just two drops and problem solved. Big cuts, like taking off half a can are done with cinnamon (for large wooden canes I can use wound paste I use for Bonsai 😁
  • Hello what do you use for fertilizer on your phalaenopsis orchids
