Red Sand Beach a.k.a. Kaihalulu Beach is located in Hana on Maui. The crescent-shaped beach is cut into the Ka’uiki Head cinder cone - the crumbly dark red lava cinder cliffs provide the beach with its red sand. The trail to get to this little cove is narrow and has been partially lost to landslides with slippery cliff edges that make it a bit dangerous to inexperienced hikers. The current inside the black lava rock wall can get strong so use caution swimming here as well.
