High profile Democrats endorse Kamala Harris: What happens next?

Kamala Harris is closing in on the US Democratic presidential nomination after securing the support of enough delegates.

To win the nomination in the first round of voting a candidate needs the backing of at least 1,976 convention delegates out of nearly 4,000. And today Ms Harris secured support from enough delegates to take Joe Biden’s place at the top of the ticket looking to November's US Presidential election.
