Improve your singing performance on stage with these 7 stage presence tips for singers. Learn how to get over feeling nervous when you sing by trying out some of these singing tips for beginners, which can also improve your performance if you're an experienced singer, too. Here's what to do:

1. Film your singing performance and study the footage: You can get better at singing on stage when you study your moves. Figure out what's working, and use your imagination to try new things that could be added to your performance. You might be surprised by what you're doing (or not doing) on stage when you sing.

2. Remember to have fun: A big part of looking good on stage comes from actually having a good time when you perform. If you feel nervous, remind yourself to have fun and enjoy yourself. That will help you give an interesting and entertaining performance.

3. Take the microphone out of its stand: If you use a microphone when you sing on stage, take it out of the stand. If you leave it in the stand, you will be less likely to move around and express yourself. It will make you look like you're hiding from the audience.

4. Stand up straight with your shoulders back: Good posture makes you look confident. it will help you command attention. (Good posture also helps ou sing better!)

5. Acknowledge the audience: Don't forget to say something to the audience. Unless you're singing in musical theatre and you're not supposed to talk to the audience, you should acknowledge them somehow. Talk to them. Ask them how they're doing. Say thank you when they applaud you. Whatever you do, don't ignore them.

6. Move your body: Feel the beat of the music and move around. Even if you don't like to dance, you can still do something to express yourself. Don't be afraid to nod your head, step from side to side or put your hands in the air. Get into it, and you'll look much more interesting on stage.

7. Smile: A little goes a long way. Smiling on stage is one of the simplest things you can do to connect with the audience. it will help you relax so you can feel more comfortable on stage. Smiling also invites the audience to pay attention to you, and it helps boost the energy of your performance.

Excuse me Miss... you’re tips are phenomenal! 🙌🏾 thank u so much for ur help. I’m a singer and have been performing live for about a year now, but I am extremely shy and still struggle with my confidence on stage. But you reminded me that I just have to relax and own it! 💯

I wrote your tips down and a little text came out, I tried to keep it in mind like singing-affirmations, thank you for your video it really helped❤ Step one, clear your mind Step two, shoulders back, don‘t be so shy Acknowledge the people, don't look to the sky, look them in the eye Take a moment to remember what it's all about It's about to make you move, to have a good time It's all about music and dancing But also keep in mind, that you’re the one they look at right now Enjoy it, have fun, don‘t let this moment rush away without giving the best you got Keep a smile on your lips, cause you’re where you want to be A smile on your lips, just a little, for us to have a good night

This may be kinda crazy to read. But I'm 6'5 , I love singing and dancing & I play guitar. I've studied Artist like Chris brown , Micheal Jackson, James brown , Prince , Beyonce etc. They're stage presence is unmatched. My thing is "Who wants to see a 6'5 ,200+ pound man dance & sing to r&b". Yea I know that sounds crazy but that's how I feel.

It's amazing not only cause the tips are good (I was taught them all before) but also because she describes very well how we actually feel and shows that it's ok but there are ways to go through it.😊

Thanks for this wonderful video! I'll be showing this at our youth music group tonight at church. Almost all of your advice applies in the church too! Even playing/singing for God requires a visual presence.
  • @jovianomahon
Thanks for sharing such solid tips. I really want to conquer that fear of being in front of a crowd, you've helped me to feel much better. Thanks :)
  • @AnnaKlatsche
Great tips! I‘m super nervous to stand on the stage with a professional Band in 2 Weeks (last time was 5 years ago in school and just for fun) Just watching this made me so confident! Thank you soo much!!
  • I have been singing since I was 6 (on stages) and I gotta say, some of the tips you gave are tips my Dad gave me way back when I started and they are so true. But even though I've been at it so long I still get shy and struggle sometimes with performance anxiety. It's not really that uncommon for anyone whose performing to get that anxiety. But these tips are gold. So to any newbies,I definitely suggest listening to this lady and her tips.

I'm doing The Voice auditions in less than 2 weeks.. this helps a lot. I will say, I don't really know what to do if it's for an acapella. There's no music, just me singing... idk the song just yet. Either Piano Man or... something.
