I give this session to my guys I coach: 10x800m at 5k pace, recovery is jog the same amount of time as the rep took. So they're doing the reps in 2m30s, so they jog 2m30s recovery. Seems to be a good marathon predictor.

No guess from me on your predicted Boston Marathon time, however, watching this video you are a fast and strong woman runner! Get after it!

I have friends that do the yassos. They are close to the final chip time! My guess 3:22:17. Boston is tough though with those hills! There are no hills on the track!

Good luck coach Morgan I hope you crush your goal.

I just finished a 4:03 Marathon following Hal Higdon's advanced1 plan, which includes Yasso repeats. Doing even split 10x800 @ 8min/mile every other week turned out to be a fairly accurate predictor. It closely matched both my Coros Race Predictor of 4:01, and the classic formula of HM PB (1:49) * 2.19 = 3:59. thumbs up to Yasso

I was gonna drop 3:13 but saw Coach Morgan at a shakeout on Sunday. I dropped it just below, and to be honest, i think in rewatching this...3 wks ago vs today...she is gonna have a very good day.

3:10 in terms of your fitness and execution of the workout. As runners we all know the “day” of the race plays a big role in final time
  • @Vicshade
I’m kind of wondering how accurate this wound up being

Darn, if only I saw this video a couple of weeks ago, I would try this too. I have my Marathon next week. But maybe I can squeeze it in. My guess is 3:26:24. Go Coach Morgan!

Hi Morgan, Good luck. You are amazing. I think you can do 3.09. You got a few more weeks left , you got this 👍 💪 🙌 😊
  • Does running 10 x 800 meters around a track any race other than marathon, or just marathon? good info!
  • @SantaCruzRunner
It’s accurate enough to build a marathon plan. Then you can fine tune as you reassess your fitness throughout the build. Boston is a tough course right? I’m guessing 3:13:30 as long as you get the good predicted weather and a tiny tail wind. Good luck out there!

    🎯Coach Morgan's time prediction🏃‍♀️ = 3hrs 14mins 53secs😊 good luck 🍀
  • 2h58 come on you can do it. I seem to recall another video where you said you wanted a sub 3 in 2024. I believe you can do it!
