Harbor freight has gotten a lot better over the years with the quality of their stuff. Also it's the only place around here that I've found the good Midland Jerry cans

Harbor freight has been amazing to me. When I was starting my technical career path I lived there because it was cheap. In time I learned it’s great to find out how bad you need the tool, buy cheap until it breaks then buy the best you can afford if you still need it has been my motto for a while now. #truckedc #whiskeyhat

Their 50 cal boxes are actually pretty damn good. For shits and grins I water tested them a couple of years ago by throwing a few weighted ones in the bottom of a pool and they stayed completely dry inside. I fully trust them to hold my freedom seeds.

Fun fact, Duct tape was originally known as “Duck” tape when invented in 1943 by a mom nMed Vesta Stroud who wanted to save soldiers’ lives in WWII. Johnson &Johnson’s Permacel division produced it. It was a waterproof tape that kept moisture out of ammo cans. Te original tape was produced in army green. Soldier soon learned the tape was great for not only as a moisture repellant, but also for repairing many things like jeeps, guns, and aircraft. How “duck” was used is all theory, but probably based on the moisture repellant properties. How it shifted from “duck” to “duct” is based on sales of the silver colored version.
  • As a professional mechanic I will say we all use our fair share of Harbor Freight tools. Their new Icon ratchets rival Snap On in quality, and have been shown to withstand more torque than their Snap On equivalents for a fraction of the price and still have the lifetime warranty. I lean to Snap On most of the time these days but I still have many tools in my arsenal from HF I just haven’t had to replace and I use every single day. You’re lucky you’re not a tool nut also because THAT can get insane and expensive. I have it under control but it’s super easy to go crazy.

A really nice tip for flashlights or headlamps that take the 3 aaa round battery. You can throw that plastic piece out and use rechargable li-ion 18650. It's so convenient to have 1 battery taking the place of 3. And it also adds a slight boost in lumens.
  • I took one of the Bauer boxes (the size you showed) and made an emergency cold weather box to keep blankets, tarps, fire, water filters, lights, radio, and more for my SUV. I then got the basket that goes on top for misc crap, and I love it!
  • @TheGoatShowMan
I've found their Badlands winches to be extraordinary for the price. They have their 12,000 lb winch (wire rope) for like $279 now. Have one on my truck and brother have I ever put that thing to the test for three years or better now. Never failed me.
  • @BMWQC
Also, Harbor Freight has truck recovery goodie’s too. Soft shackles,D-rings, tree straps etc.
  • @labatt099
I love Harbor Freight. Their tools have a life time warranty. Haven't had to take advantage of that yet but good to know they will replace them.
  • @jasoncrute6697
I use the rifle case to store all my dry food and cooking while I’m out camping. I take foam out and everything is laid out nice inside and no digging around searching in a deep box
  • @joehanika
For the head lamps, I have been carrying around the flash lights with the belt clip that allows me to throw it on my hat. It has been a game changer since I have found those.
  • @lanescanner7063
Their little Hatchets are not bad for the price. They have axes, shovels, and splitting mauls also. I took a chance and bought a 5 ton electric log splitter. It busted all the red oak I needed for the year.
  • @Zyn88
I love the Apache cases. Great price for something like that, and they're rugged as hell. I have 3 of them, all for different uses. Get them, have them, use them. they rock!
  • I like their camo moving blankets too. Always good to have a blanket in your vehicle.
  • @spades1080
The key is understanding the situation and the way you will be using your Harbor Freight finds. They are definitely working on improving their items and upgrading the quality of the products they offer. Good on you for sharing and for explaining that there are many useful tools to be had there. Thanks Jeremy! #truckEDC #whiskeyhat.

#1; best intro EVER, #2 Awesome usage of video clips, #3 very obvious yet informative ideas that I myself have definitely walked past in HF multiple times. Probably won't anymore. Thanks dude
  • My wife always laughs at me but I am a flashlight FREAK! I have sooo many lights around the house, shop, basement work bench, trucks, cars, and even my Rebel I could probably make Vegas blush. I always have 2 on my person, usually 3. I have my pistol light, pocket light, and phone light. If I'm at work where I can't carry, I have a headlamp on my brain bucket, and I keep a spare in my line bucket. I'm an electrician at a local university, and they are EXTREMELY helpful!
  • @Sambuca123
I am an aircraft mechanic and I have the apache carry on to put all my tools. That thing is literally indestructible, the best part is that if your latches or wheels go bad you can order all the spare parts from pelican for just the shipping price.!nice video. #truckedc #whiskeyhat
