These are instrumental studio demos for the SEVENTH STAR, but do not confuse these with the Jeff Fenholt auditions. These are completely different takes in excellent quality. It is likely that these tracks were laid down in Atlanta just before Glenn Hughes added his vocals.
The arrangements for the songs are often different than what would appear on the finished record. One really nice highlight is an extended version of "Heart Like A Wheel" that showcases some extended improvisations from Tony. A second shorter take of "HLAW" has Tony soloing from the very beginning where the song is faded in. The track is faded out after nearly 12 minutes with Tony still firing away!
