Sucks that they both passed so young. What a shame. One of the greatest bands of all time. They are responsible for more young people picking up instruments than just about any other band..because they proved that you didn't have to be a virtuoso in order to write good songs and be a good band.

This interview is really interesting, they feel very approachable here !
  • Johnny talks in this interview about the idiots in the press who donā€™t know who anyone in the band is ā€” and then this supposedly legitimate outlet misidentifies Joey as Tommy.

This was before the two didnā€™t get along. 1980 interview or 1981 interview.
  • I think this is definitely 1981, PLEASANT DREAMS era, based on the way they look. As others have said, this is Joey and Johnny. Tommy was out of the band by this point.

I saw Johnny a couple of times at baseball card shows on the Lower East Side in the early 80s. I never worked up the nerve to talk to him, I should have, he seems friendly here.
  • Johnnyā€™s hair in this is at its best. The poofiest mop top youā€™ve ever seen. The Beatles WISH they could do the same hahaha!
