Astronauts Sunita Williams & Barry Wilmore Stranded in Space for Over 50 Days | Firstpost America

Two NASA astronauts, Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore, have been stuck on the International Space Station (ISS) for more than 50 days after their mission using the Boeing Starliner capsule experienced serious problems. The Starliner capsule experienced a helium leak and failure on several thrusters during the flight. NASA and Boeing have not been able to announce a date to transport Williams and Wilmore back to Earth. However, they claim the capsule is safe enough to return if needed. The failure of this system forced Williams and Wilmore to stay on the ISS longer than planned, with further issues regarding leaks and malfunctions that had to be fixed remotely.

  • I grew up in Seattle watching 747 and 727 test aircraft fly over my home. Now, Boeing is losing its integrity; whistleblowers and technical errors are discrediting it’s reputation.

Are they still alive? Do they have supplies for their survival? This is like that movie The Martian. It's weird how this isn't being covered much by major news outlets.
  • Imagine China, Russia, or Iran in this situation, the whole media landscape will report this as the Soviet Era Bhilshit and it will be heard everywhere in the world. Sad. Nonetheless, may God bring them home safely.
  • Get to the Chinese space station for a flight back .... they have an overcapacity of flights in space.
  • @medix1203
They cant return because the slope of the re entry angle is too dangerous.....
  • @jazzman7167
The Chinese need to bail them out, but the Wolf amendment prevents that!
  • Hopefully, the delays are to ensure her safe return rather than due to any undisclosed alarming reason, which is becoming quite concerning.
  • @reploid001
This is a prime example of being academic smart vs street smart. You'd rather be a con man, than a smarty pants stuck in space. Those wall street wolves are smarter than nasa people.

Lost in space tv series now lost in space became real

Boing has gone to crap. Space X should get the contract.
  • Boeing should just fire majority/all of their top management. They have been failing prolifically in all sectors for quite some time now.
  • Let them know it's stupid to want to come back here, nothing good is happening here
