I don't understand why! Even when you tell him please be honest with me, I'd rather have the truth weather it hurts than have been lied to and feel decieved and hurt. That's where trust starts failing

I was married to a man for 48 years and found out after he passed away that he had lied to me the whole time. I think I knew, but never could face the truth. He was 15 years older than me and had a horrible childhood. He's been gone 3 years and I'm still trying to face what happened. I alternate between anger, sadness and self loathing. Feel like I wasted those years in a fantasy. I know it will get easier, but it's been so painful.

My ex-husband was (per his therapist) a pathological liar. That man would lie about absolutely anything and didn't seem to understand why he did it. The hardest part was he always believed his lies after they came out of his mouth. I would show him proof that he was lying and then he would be mad/furious at me because I could prove him wrong. He lied to absolutely everyone. It was sad and scary. I've been divorced for 14 years and seem to constantly run into men with the same issues with dishonesty. I'm settled on being single and enjoying a peaceful and honest life.
