I am really interested in what Bethany said about praying to God about your relationship and naturally drawing closer to each other. That was God confirming that Mark was the one. I had an experience where the more I prayed to God about a relationship, the more I noticed little things about the guy that I didn't like. Some things like skipping a Sunday service or lack of motivation to read the Bible with me confirmed to me that he was not the one. God will open your eyes if you ask, but you also must be willing to see the truth.

I really liked what Bethany said about how they didn’t need the other person to add what one lacked. Some people get in relationships just to have the other person help them become a new person, but that doesn’t make any sense. Seek God

To be equally yoked, as I see it, is not only 2 people to have the same religious belief (as Christians = both Christ followers). I think there has to be common goals, perspective and thought. Like Bethany said, you have to "fit" together. You both were wise to first consult with God regarding each other-most will consult their emotions instead and end up miserable in the long run. I’ve taken a survey over the years. Adam always recognizes his Eve pretty immediately: 2 weeks or less. So to summarize: For Eve: Confirmation equals feeling closer to Adam by drawing closer to God. For Adam: Confirmation equals relationship with God enhanced/deepens by drawing close to Eve. I believe that’s God’s ordained order.
