Hepatopulmonary Syndrome: Diagnosis and treatment

The pathophysiology includes nitric oxide in the pulmonary vasculature which results in intrapulmonary vasodilatation. This causes the classical and unique symptom of platypnea and orthodeoxia.

Thank you so much for the information. I was surprised that you only had 100 patients. I have just been diagnosed with Hepatopulmonary Syndrome and am afraid I will go to the bottom of the list as I also have cancer. I was formerly a Mayo patient, and always look to you for advice.
