Legendary guitarists like Andy Timmons need access to lots of tones, and that's precisely what his signature Ibanez ATZ100 provides. Benefiting from extreme stability and playability, courtesy of an S-Tech Wood roasted maple neck and fingerboard, the ATZ's back shape ensures maximum playing comfort. Nick Jennison takes a closer look at the ATZ100's top-shelf feature set.

  • Fantastic demo! Found you as a Timmons fan.....but now I'm a fan of the demo, too! Well Done. Thank You, Nick.

the dp187 is such a great pickup works well in all combos of the 5 traditional strat pickup positions with a fat warm tone with some of that single coil chimey top end to spare.
  • Great demo! Really enjoying some of the more melodic stuff going on at several points in this video, IMO, more about touch and tone than Nick's undeniable chops. (But the chops is good, too!) Even besides my longtime Andy Timmons interest, I definitely hope to get to try one of these some day.
  • Man, I wish Ibanez would just re-release the white and the antique violinburst Andy Timmons models.
  • Just goes to prove that only Andy can sound like Andy... god-tier tone.
  • Great demo, as always. Nick is not only a great player, but very thorough in is demos, showing you what an ax can do and how it's thrown together. I'm a big fan of both Timmons Ibanez models. I think the 3 DiMarzio Cruisers really give this guitar a different tone than the original ATZ10P. One is not better than the other, just a different emphasis.

Very good video. Thank you very much
  • Any chance you guys have a video for the ATZ10P in the works? Trying to decide between this one, and the new premium variant.

This guitar is amazing even if you are not an huge Andy Timmons fan.I only listened to 3-4 AT songs but i tried one of his AT100cl signature models in a music store. The neck is amazing, the feel of guitar is super B, quality is top notch, the sound ranging from warm sound to the classic "twangy" Strat/Hendrix sound. Its an truly versatile guitat for many different genres especially good for Eric Johnsons stuff, fusion, Arena/melodic rock. Its truly like a modernized Stratocaster. I will probably sell my RG550 and my Fender Strat Professional 2 and buy this one.
  • Ibanez site shows this as having the most narrow nut they offer. How is it for chording with hammer and pull offs? I'm concerned because I begged a shopped to get one in having never played one.
  • Are these a set of bridge, neck, neck, model Cruisers? And are they wired to 250k or 500k pots?
  • If I'm not mistaken, the back of the neck would show evidence of routing if this was a 1-peice neck. Gotta get that truss rod in there somehow.👍

Are all three of the Cruisers "bridge" pickups (voiced for bridge)? I'm probably crazy, but I think I learned from some long-forgotten source that they were. Thank you for your great overview/review.
  • I have been living under a rock or I am not 50 years old 😉
  • @sebrura
40.5 mm nutwith. That is seriously narrow.
