Ah the American dream. To work until you're physically incapable to anymore. Than you're discarded like last week's takeout.
  • It sucks living in America and they wonder why people out here scamming, the American dream is long gone

This is shameful, we should be able to retire by at least 55.

Shameful! Why is the government not taking care of this Vietnam Veteran? He needs to file for a pension and SSI with Social Security. At 82, he's worked long enough!
  • No sh*t. High rents high homes, and another stadium to bring higher cost of living. Where do they expect people to sh*t money from?

He's been working for years and zero savings or assets? It sucks to be him.

If you ever travel to the EU you'll soon realize this is NOT the greatest country on earth. We lack all of the support programs that poor first world countries offer their citizens, oh and their taxes are light years easier.

Currently Social security allows me to earn up to 18k a year. Then after 70 I'll be able to earn up to 60k all tax free. I'm hoping to be able to work into my '80's also; how else can I recoup all the taxes I paid before retirement it I don't work?
