I built an electric flying Iron Man suit! It uses 26 EDF (electric jets) that let the user fly for about 1 minute. Each suit part is also capable of flying on its own for a remote auto summon. It took 2 years of development and over $50,000 to finish. It was my hardest project yet, I hope you enjoy it! #ironman

That’s brilliant, the fact it flies to you is a huge achievement as well.

The fact that the first thing he said when the backpack thing was exploding on his back was "no body come close, nobody come near here" made me gain alot more respect for him

The crazy thing is Tony in the movie also almost died when testing it. If it wasn't done for comedic effect, he would have been seriously injured when he was testing the thrust at 10% power and slammed into the wall at 100 mph. So I appreciate seeing you take the safety precautions in this video.

I love how he shows us the process and somehow makes it look exactly like the thumbnail this guy is a genius

i’ve never seen J that emotional about anything, but the fact that he persevered and continued on with the project just shows how much he cares abt his ideas and his content creation. You’re an absolute legend J, great video keep up the fantastic work👍🏼💯

Congratulations! So proud of you, you finished the project I never could, you made it real! 🙌 Edit: since everyone's gonna ask -- we stopped working on flying like iron man when Richard Browning came out with Gravity Industries in 2019 -- and probably a good thing too, cause based on what Jake spent on this... we woulda gone bankrupt back then! Seeing Jake do it brings a tear to my eye, I am seriously happy for him. It does make me kinda wish we kept going back then -- but then again Hacksmith Industries might never have became the company it is today if we had! All for the best, besides, Jake makes a much better Tony than I ever did 😄

I really know the pain with hardware errors, especially when you don‘t know what the error is. Man this takes some very strong will power to still figure it out, no matter the time and the costs. Huge respect.

10:09 "Why are you working out? You do sport?" "Nah, man. For science. I'm making an iron man suit." "Oh.. kay...?"
  • @DingusSauce
I can’t believe he’s been wanting to do this for 14 years, that’s dedication
  • Mad props to this guy for not only losing around 20 pounds, pushing through emotional, financial, and technical turmoil, but also caring more about the safety of his friends than for his own (when the Mark 2 started sparking, he told them to stay away, not come put it out). Brilliant show of spirit, well done.

To see this guy flying with no saftey ropes, man, so much respect.
  • @jellyb1zzel549
This man is gonna be the reason why we’re gonna get flying cars respect for this man

A long, long time ago (33 years...) a I was a young man. I had this dream. I sat in libraries trying to make it work. I quickly realised it was impossible. Well, not impossible, but too many technologies weren't there, or in their infancy. A dozen things to get working first. More than a lifetimes work. Heartbroken, I moved on to other things I could do. Not enough giants backs to stand on. I'm 50 this year and I see this. Another smart young boy with my dream but this time, the tech is within reach. Possible. I was crying half way through and sobbing by the end. YES!!! You did it! You made our dream come true. I had put it so far back I had forgotten that boy a bit. I can't tell you how this feels. Thank you so much. "Why do I keep doing this?" 'Cause that's what heroes do.
  • @KomiPai
Saying “nobody come close” while it’s literally popping while attached to you shows how much you care about the people you work with. You earned this! Good job and congrats on the finished product 🎉
  • @trsskater
It looks like the problem with the batteries bursting into flames is the fact that the batteries aren't all evenly charged so one of them discharges lower than the rest while still pulling full power and that cell will heat up rappidly and burst into flames. I think you would need a BMS system to manage them to make sure all cells in the pack are charged evenly and discharging evenly.
  • Absolutely amazing dude. Impressive not giving up. Takes a lot to keep continuing that long without knowing there’s a payoff. This video deserves way more credit.
  • As an engineer and programmer myself, I feel the amount of dedication and time you must have put into this project. Literally thinking about all the problems you had to fix and things you had to do to get this to work gives me a headache. Must have taken you over a year to do everything.
