At Rock Hill Farm and Homes we upload new videos at least 3 times per week, about our 20 Acre hobby farm, our John Deere 2038R compact tractor and other equipment, and the businesses that we run.

These businesses include a manufacturing operation, a Christmas tree farm, real estate investing, a lawn care business, and an online retail store. I demonstrate how I am able to use these ventures to earn a good living without a traditional job.

We have some cool toys and always think outside the box on our little homestead so come along for the ride.

You can expect new videos from us every other day, usually around 8 AM.

I just started watching. When we built the one we did we did not fully tighten bolts until fully erected. It made it easier to install.
  • @dustdevl1043
Putting all of those bolts in on the ground has got to be a lot easier than putting it up in sections. I hope the weather holds out for you.

"It's been really great working with Brock, but this is probably going to get one of us killed." 😂😂 Have to have a sense of humor, doing projects like you're doing. Looking good, man, and looks like it's getting a little easier putting them up!! 👍

Have you tried stacking pallets on your forks to increase your lift height on your tractor
  • @T_Humphries
Lookin good fellas!! It's like most jobs you finally figure it out when your finished. You'll be doing four arches per day before it's over
  • 🌅 morning Rick Hill and crew. Brock you are doing an amazing job. Greetings from Jamaica 🇯🇲🇯🇲 . Let's stand some arches bro 💪💪😊😊

My last summer job in farm country of northern Indiana,, I built grain bins. Except for the larger sizes, we built them from the roof down by Using crank jacks. These were large panel grain bins so we would use the 1st ring To build the roof panels on it and then we would start jacking it up and adding one or two row Panels. We would then Move the jacks to the next row. I was just wondering if a jack on each side would help steady it when you bolt it down bolt it down. Of course now there are electric jacks. Lol

You have enough arches put together now that will support a person on top and pull on the rope from above will be a lot easier.

I was waiting for an update, you mentioned high winds and I can sympathize with that. Who knew in Upstate NY we’d have 45mph winds for apparently no reason?

When we did ours we fabricated some L brackets.. We placed one at each end of the arch on the side that's farthest away from remaining arches. We then bolted the other side of the L bracket to the foundation metal and used it as a pivot point as we raised it with a telehandler. If you are finding that you don't have enough clearance between the L bracket and the bolt you can always cut a slit in the vertical part of the L bracket so that the bolt can slide up-and-down and give you the working room you need you need until you get vertical and bolt it down the correct way. It could still theoretically work with you guys pulling with ropes and creating a Y-shaped yoke out of one of the 2x4's to be able to more safely cradle the arch as you guys are pushing it up so that the 2x4 does not slip off. Hope this helps.

If there was ever a time to have a friend with a Lull forklift it's now! Absent the equipment, you're doing a good job!
  • @mkc0005
Now just keep the rhythm going. By the time I type this you'll probably have 10 arches up and be almost half way there.
