While scrubbing with salt works fine, I'm usually too lazy to do it. I simply use hot water and a brush. If the skillet feels sticky, I use a little dish soap. If food sticks, I boil water in the skillet and deglase with a wooden scraper. If that doesn't do the job, I recommend a chain mail cleaner. Then I dry the skillet on the stove top, add a few drops of oil (or my self made seasoning paste) raise the heat and let it smoke for like 30 seconds. I wipe off the remaining oil and put the skillet away. Never had any rust issues and I can store the skillets for months without the protective coating turning rancid.
  • God this is overcomplicated.. I’m so glad I do things the quick and efficent way lol
