Please make sure you make it to the end of the video!!! You'll see how we truly feel about the whole performance! Spoiler, we rate the performance very highly and had a great time watching - especially in the second half. We are all allowed to disagree on each other's opinions - that's what makes life interesting. However, there is absolutely no excuse for the rude and vile comments we have received (we've had to remove and report multiple offensive comments) This isn't how the community is or how it should act, we all know this. Let's keep it civil and have real discussions about music, regardless of where we stand. Remember, music is our love our passion and we are just talking about it! Thanks enjoy the video MA xo

An abomniable reaction to one of the greatest performances that's ever been seen. Shame on you.
  • @brucedouglas3
Very poor reaction to a great performance. Would love to see you pair trying to play it. Why not upload vidio of your great band and let us judge.
  • @davidw7005
Pretty snarky for two people who haven't done a thing
  • To be able to diss this drum-playing says something about the individual dissing... His playing fits perfectly for this song and brings so much energy to it. You two sitting there, looking at eachother in every brake, smiling - like you know the truth and the world does not! Unbearable. Watching this reaction is a pleasant as doing root canal work.

Dude on the right giving the drummer the death stare before the track had even begun.

Trying to cover yourself after the fact is not going to work. This is the worst reaction I've ever heard and I've been listening to music for 50 yrs, not only are you way, way off and appear to be listening to a different performance but some of the top music experts l, some.of which have millions of views who talk about this performance and break ot down, rate it as one of the best libe performances ever and one of the best drumming performances of all time. Terry Williams is amazing. What I'd like to do is hear your music and analyze that. You seen to be the expert so, show us. Mark looked at him because of how brilliantly he was playing, he was smiling and "solid" before that. Listen to 30 or 40 reviews from drum teachers, guitar teachers, musical experts who literally have 200 to 500,000 views to your 418. I think you need to listen before speaking

They are live having the time of their lives just showing their talent
  • @arcturus8218
i dont think u guys should be giving anyone fashion advice we had sweatbands in the 80s:face-blue-smiling:
  • Do you really like music? One of the best drumers performace ever, fabulous Terry Williams. Listen again....
  • @johnfrancis1528
Telling that drummer to tone it down is like telling Pavarotti to do the same. Appreciate the enormous talent.
  • Wow, those riffs are genius and there's not many can do that, he sure makes that guitar sing. The likes and reviews you get from this will prove it. A totally one off unique performance from the whole of the band .
  • I don’t agree: this performance is so good (much better that the original version with the original drummer) especially for the great work of the drummer (Terry Williams) through all the song: without that, the performance wouldn’t be so spectacular and impressive.
  • @elenasancho6074
Mark explained that the lights in the past were not like the ones now and they were so hot that he was sweating profusely, so much so that it prevented him from playing properly, so he used the sweatbands because of that. When the lights were no longer so hot he stopped using them.
  • Guy's, let the song play, 4 minutes in and it's like watching paint dry.
  • @stevesnow315
I think you guys must be out of your goddamn minds.
  • @user-eh9we2rf6o
Opinions are meant to be different, and mine is very different to yours. I love this performance.
  • @musik102
The guy in the right, what are his credentials to critique this performance? Is he a musician?
  • @osmanyldran4363
Sorry guys. I respect your right to not like the music you listen to, but I don't think you have the right to bury an extraordinary drummer like Terry Williams in this way, so I didn't feel the need to watch the remaining six minutes of the video after the song ended, even though you specifically requested it in your initial statements. I'm sure I missed a lot. First of all, this song is written on a simple theme, but it is a song that evokes deep emotions in the listener. Maybe we can call it the magnificence of small things to describe this feeling. In a way, this version from the Alchemy concert reflects the live performance of the Sultans of Swing band mentioned in the song, not Dire Straits. As you know, more sounds add mass and volume to a musical composition. Mark wanted to give the song mass and volume in this version and gave Terry free rein. And Terry did a job - perhaps beyond what Mark expected. Throughout the song, you can see the look of satisfaction on Mark's face and his smiling eyes talking to John (John Illsley, the bassist) about Terry's attacks. Pick Withers played the drums in the studio version of the song. Maybe you can take a look at him, he had a much simpler (which is never bad) style. Anyway.. Since you did not forget to give a lesson in sympathy to Terry Williams, one of the funniest men in the world, as well as his extraordinary drumming technique, we can now go back to our caves.

No current rock bands can match the talent of Dire Straights
