  • This game was programmed by David Perry (Shiny Entertainment) who also coded Aladdin (Mega Drive) and Earthworm Jim.

I use to rent this on the Genesis as a kid from the video store until my birthday when I asked my parents for it. One of my all time favorite genesis games. I still own my original copy with case.

The strangest thing about the Spot Goes To Hollywood game on Playstation is that there's no references to 7up anywhere in the game. So I'm concluding that they tried to turn Spot into a video game mascot but it ultimately failed.
  • I had this game on the Genesis as a kid and it blew me away with the graphics and music. Hard as nails though but was able to beat it on Normal, cause on hard it was brutal... The bonus stage madew me nervous for some reason, to this day.

Tommy Tallarico did the soundtrack for this game and it goes a long way towards making this game pretty good.

7-Up's carbonation felt like it was going to burn a hole through my nose.
  • Late to the party but....finally someone else who thinks the Genesis one is better! I rented the Genesis one and had a fond childhood weekend playing it on vacation by the beach. I also rented the SNES one because magazines at the time said it was the better version. It has some nicer visuals, but it also changes things in ways I didn't prefer. It removed the animated condensation dripping during the bonus game, and it even removed enemies from some stages. It's a fun game, in any case.

I really appreciate the time you spent creating these videos. It takes me back to my childhood
  • I swear, your channel is so addictive. I remember writing this game off as a kid.
  • @Sakanakao
Back when it came out this was a really nice weekend rental for me and my sister to play.

Can confirm. 7 Up was everywhere in the 90s and early 00s. People went crazy for that “7 Up Yours” slogan, which came after this thing.
  • @Ghost_Of_SAS
Speaking of 7-Up mascots, there is also a Fido Dido game for the SNES and genesis

This is a decent channel, type in pretty much any game in your memory from your childhood 95% of the time this dude has covered it

The music is WAY better on the Super Nintendo, the Genesis sound is okay for what it is, but not horrible!

Got me craving 7-Up now. Never played the game but it looked fun as a kid.

Cool Spot was awesome! I only played the Sega Genesis version growing up, but I enjoyed it a lot. Definitely a surprising, hidden gem.

Rave Dance Tune form the bonus level is a fantastic track on every system. That is SNES, Genesis, GB, GG and Amiga.

I love this game still to this day. My mom and I always rented and played this so much fun
