Ford BRONCO CATASTROPHIC Engine FAILURES - WHOA... 25,538 Units Potentially Affected !!

Publicado 2022-07-01
In This Segment, Keith And Jay Discuss The Potential 25,538 Units Of The Ford BRONCO That Could Experience CATASTROPHIC Engine FAILURES !! WHOA...Man that sucks !! SORRY Guys, The Blue Oval Has Let Us Down!! According To Sources, We Have A Grand Total Of 32 Full Size BRONCO Owners Filing Complaints Related To Engine Failure So Far. Ford Officially Noted In Its NHTSA Filing That 25,538 SUVs With The 2.7L V6 Ecoboost Could Ultimately Be Affected By This Issue. So Far, Affected Customers Claim That Their Vehicles Experienced A Loss Of Power While Driving At Highway Speeds, After Which Their Broncos Would NOT RESTART Due To CATSTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE !! On Top Of An Earlier Claim Of Less Than Optimal Material Used For The Valves, Sources Tell Us That The 2.7L V6 EcoBoost Used In The Bronco is Equipped With An Oil Pan Design That Allows The Oil Pickup Tube To Become Uncovered And Suck In Air (Cavitation), Which Can Cause Not Only Valve Failures, But Engine Bearings As Well. This Is Exacerbated When You Off-Road Where Erratic And Excited Driving Conditions Reach A Higher Level Causing The Oil To Not Reach Components Effectively!!

These were all the 2021 Bronco models, the issues were fixed prior to the 2022's rolling off the line.
  • It just happened to me..... Just bought a 2023 Bronco Black Diamond with a 2.7 eco from Ricart Form in Columbus OH. the other day the engine coolant entered the exhaust system and now I have a 211 mile bronco that's a piece of sh**!!!!!!
  • I think I will stick with my 1972 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. Not pretty, not efficient, but reliable.

I bought a new ford Bronco 2023 4 cycle. We bought it on july 8th 2023 and 15 days later the motor sounds like a diesel. Dealership came and picked it up . They said they will replace the motor with new one . Have know idea when i will get it their back logged. We only got 1,493 miles on it

I used to work in a Continental Factory where we made all of the tubing that goes under the hood in Ford turbo engines. I would never buy any Ford with a turbo. The pipes would have huge lumps on the inside of them that you couldn't see unless you cut the pipes open. They made bad pipes all the time, if they had a sufficient amount in inventory they would scrap them, if they were low on inventory they would push the bad pipes along to Ford. Whether or not they ever made it to a vehicle I can't tell you.

Have they replaced those engines with updated new engine's, or replaced the engine with the same problem engine ? Milking the customer out of their warranty.

I figured with my 8/8/22 build date 2.7l should be sorted out. Reservation 7/21/20. Also of the 25k units,. How many documented faults?

I'll give you the only thing you need to remember about those great awesome cars of the 60's and 70's , at 100,000 miles , they were all in the junkyard ..... I love my 4Runner ,
  • @sheyer4
sadly my bronco was one of the ones affected by the issue, happened at 6,800 miles with an oil change done at 2500 miles and never driven hard
