I've discovered this guy in 2024 and he is instantly one of my favorites. Where the fuck have i been?

2:10 Probably one of the greatest music shots of all time. A gritty song about fame and pride and then a shot of him capturing the entire crowd in his visor. So cool

When I was a young kid in austin texas Gary Clark jr was my neighbor and I heard him playing guitar on his porch every night until his dad made him stop true talent from the beginning

Modern blues rock doesn't get any better than this. I've been listening to these kind of jams since the 1960's and I'm here to tell you... this young man is the REAL...deal.

I could just watch this on a loop for the rest of my life.

What you don't realize, was this was his breakthrough moment. Until this point in his career nobody outside Austin knew who he was. He was given a shot; He Nailed His Moment.

The shot of the crowd through those aviators goes HARD.

When they show a closeup you can see the entire crowd from the reflection in his glasses. It would make a badass album cover

This solo is probably one of the best i've heard in a long long time. Gary is a freaking beast, too much wind and swagger

This live performance is so much better than studio version......WOW!

What people don't know was there was a technical problem.. The P.A. dropped sound so they couldn't hear right. He extended the intro of the song til the sound kicked in on the other guitarist amp... then it came back on. You can see the yellow shirt guy make a face like wtf at the beginning and then works it out. Clark held the song together like glue and extended the intro and improved the leads. At some point They came back on. Also that second lead was improved and extended when the crowd lost it.. That's some balls right there keeping your shit together when things are going wrong and steps up and owns it like a boss that he is. Clapton wrote a note to him saying thank you. You make me want to play again.😀

Just discovered this guy today & I'm hooked.

I circle back to this performance every once in a while to get my face rocked clean off. Musicianship, sound crew and camera work all FIRE.

My dad got me into Gary Clark jr. He passed 4 months ago and I get to see him next Friday for the first time. It’s kind of bittersweet
