Build Quality Inconsistency & Hyper Polling Dongle Problems — DeathAdder V3 Pro Follow-up

*EDIT: Correction, the wireless DA V3 uses an "up to" system for the polling rate so it won't always poll at its maximum value. That said, this does not explain away the problems with the hyperpolling dongle "forgetting" the polling rate settings and in my tests even with high DPI values and fast sweeping motions I wasn't able to get the mouse to poll anywhere near the listed value. And I am able to get it to poll at the listed value on my wired DA V3 with the same kind of test so something screwy still seems to be occurring. To clarify what I meant at 5:30, the Zowie mice at their top right point (the right point next to the clicks I mean) sort of swoops in and then back out where it rounds off. I find that feels great if you hold the mouse such that your fingers rest in that little divet where it swoops in. But I find it feels kind of weird/odd if you happen to be holding the mouse very far forward such that your fingers would rest on the rounded portion that flairs back out a bit. Not bad mind you I think I just need to get used to it. Now, when my finger rests on the DA V3 connecting edge (top right under the click) however that feels very bad to me and I strongly prefer how Zowie/Vaxee round their corners under the clicks. I also think the EC2 has a slightly better back support hump to my preference as the back left doesn't flair out quite as much and the back right flairs out more (though total hump width is roughly identical). The other thing that's interesting between my two units is that the kind of pseudo unibody design they've got goin on is less successful on my new unit than my old one. There are basically connecting lines where they put the shell together and on my first unit these are painted over/coated such that they are hardly visible and I don't really fell them. On my new unit you can much more clearly see the connecting lines and also feel them so this is a great mouse and all, but I think Razer has some work to do on the QC front. The left click is really bad compared to my other unit. So, the first unit has a crappy back side button and this unit has a crappy left click. That is very frustrating to be honest. One compliment I can give to Zowie is in general terms their build quality has been excellent and more consistent vs other mice manufacturers I've tried thus far. I'm tellin yah, if they just made and EC1.5 in between the 2 and the 1 in size then replaced their shell material/coating with one like the Superlight's or the DA V3 Pro's that'd be the dream for me but alas.

A little follow-up to my wireless/wired V3 experience I might have also dropped a comment on your newer video - So I ended up selling my wired V3 which had perfect QC/clicks etc. just because I was honestly getting a bit tired of the wire and I'm pretty much transitioning my whole collection to wireless only. I actually bought a used (Like-New) White V3 Pro from the Amazon Warehouse and so far I'm really liking it! QC is good (no creaks) and the clicks are very nice and crispy all around. It's better than any V3 Pro I've tried in the past. It's not my first time buying used mice on Amazon and I've only had good experiences lol... better luck than buying new from Amazon/Best Buy. Batch number on my unit is (2312) and it was made in Thailand.
  • so many threads of the mouse having the same problem of mine. only works wired dongle refuses to work as soon as i charge my mouse and try to go back to wireless i have to uninstall synapse restart pc and sometimes that doesnt work

Yeah every V3 Pro I've tried felt different in terms of clicks. Now I'm instead using a wired V3 and no issues with it and clicks are nice and consistent.

Is this good for medium size hands like 17.7 length and 8.8 cm width hands ?
  • i dont have any connecting issue with this v3 pro. all perfect. but window defender hurt IO so bad. i have had to turn real time protection off for nowaday. and that made the mouse feel so good so different. especially while using 4k

  • Hello, I received mine few days ago, and I have lateral wobble / sideplay on the left click and it doesn't feel good. Is that normal or it's an issue?
  • @JoshTerror
I guess there's a reason Logitech hasn't released anything with a 4k/8k polling rate. This cake don't bake, yet.

Aww man.. I literally just bought this mouse two days ago 😭
  • The lower polling rate is not an inconsistency, thats how mouse polling adjusts on the fly with cursor movement. On 2000 or 4000hz polling rate thats your ceiling but the mouse doesnt need to go that high to track accurately. Opt for a higher DPI and lower in-game sensitivity and check again, you will see higher polling numbers.
