Another great video, this must have been shot quite a while ago.

Yes great work very well done video! Just really curious about the building codes and inspections, where you are . I usually get the grumpy inspector. They all might be. Did they require engineered plans ?

really taking shape now! why is the time stamp from 2016? are you close to done now and just going through the videos?
  • @MrArtbyart
What about the floor? Did you poor it, as well?

I'm curious why you wouldn't wrap the osb with a vapor barrier? seems like a wood rot/ termite buffet?
  • @sarah55413
What is that great song playing in the background?

I love the look of the arched rebar. Then you ruin it with square windows? I don't get it.
  • I noticed most of this video dates back to last spring and summer. Is there a reason for the delay
  • @pacemetalfab
Where is the foam board installed? Video link please?
  • @Patriot3791
Are you going to pour a slab on the interior later?
  • @EvanMantri
can you get a cell phone signal inside the house under that metal mesh?
  • @Strange-Viking
Structuraly very interesting vid, great presentation too, not that its important for you but dzjeez those skylights xD ugly as f lol. I do like the rest though. Going to be a nice bunker
  • It would be faster, cheaper and much stronger to use an airform, basalt rebar and shotcrete

You have talent and more energy than most people, but none of this labor intensive project and the imposition on family make any sense. An earth covered house on flat ground requiring trucked in fill will take a long time to pay back environmentally. The rebar must be located in the gunite precisely for strength, not just be there. The electric boxes do not need to be welded to the rebar frame code wise, the steel just needs to be bonded to the grounding electrode conductor however that is just an opinion for a concrete structure. Footing steel yes but welding the boxes to the rebar? Not required unless to hold them in the form. You are very manic, with a lot of energy to burn also much free time.
