Andy Serkis is a remarkable actor, both live and mo-cap. He's a good director also. After Andor, maybe he should write & direct a good Star Wars series.....
-
So cool of Serkis to play an insane CGI creature.
-
Every Friday evening I finish up & MauLer's just like "welcome to the weekend, here's an LoTR Mini." I appreciate it Longman

Why does this 2000's technology look much better than higher budget productions today? Good writing to show what could be done well, and avoid what couldn't.
-
This might be my favourite LOTR mini. Gollum and Serkis make the best combination
-
Unironically, my favorite character in LOTR trilogy is Gollum. His dynamic between the sides always gets me. Such genioune emotions are being put forward despite it being CGI.

Gollum was my favourite character. He was brilliantly done, and Andy Serkis should have received an Oscar. As soon as I left the cinema in 2002, my first thought was Gollum deserves the Oscar. In the special features of my extended editions (18 hours of features btw), they mentioned that Andy Serkis had to drink a special tea with honey, ginger, and something else to protect his vocal chords, and he did do some damage to them during filming. Also, check out an unknown film called Einstein and Eddington, with Andy Serkis playing Einstein, and David Tennant playing Eddington. Good film, very moving.

In the shots where Serkis is shown in a mocap suit, he slightly reminds me of Pink Guy.

God I love EFAP. so much .
-
Andy Serkis is one of few actors to respect fully...
-
The fact that Andy is the only really known Motion Capture artist tells you how unthankful it is even though it is even harder
-
Andy Serkis' Gollum is miles and tones better than Lord of Ring Gollum, purely because he doesn't have his BALLS LOCKED.
-
Andy Serkis is great, but the animators / modellers (and probably programmers) did an excellent job too
-
Gollum. Such a character that it should have spawn a whole new type of award
-
Gollum was an incredibly phobic guy 😬

As I watch and rewatch the greatest trilogy of all time as well as my favorite internet people reviewing all of it in adoration, a thought occurred. What if all that rings of power stuff just made many new gen z fans of the Jackson trilogy? To the extent that as the RoP ratings drop through the floor and the legit negative criticism of his pet project explodes, he’s watching many many dvd box sets and book sets (original art) just flying out the Amazon warehouses. I imagine a little tear would fall from his wonky eye right before his son disowns him.

Gollum is my favorite character because he’s like every homeless person me and my best friend ever met walking down to the corner store at 2am, all rolled into one person. 7:15 We knew a guy who was addicted to synthetic heroin and he would do odd shit like this all the time. Lol
