Returning a Hapton Valley Minetub to Hapton Valley Colliery

2022-08-09に共有
We had a few hours to spare after not being able to get into the Duke's underground canal at Worsley and have been told about these minecarts/minetubs up near the old Hapton Valley Colliery site by some of our facebook group and other monkey Nicki so we decided to get another rescue mission on 😁

We have already donated minetubs found at Hapton and Towneley Colliery's to the mining museum here in Burnley so we think this one belongs up at Hapton where it spent its life underground 💙

Hey up ducks. Here we go again.👍😉
  • smashing it boys...saving history right there. Top job 🐒🐵🦂⛏⚒
  • Y'all remind me of when I was a kid finding old things out in the woods. Hands and feet in the mud digging things up lol. Fun adventure.
  • I can't help but watch , listen and enjoy everything that you are getting up to boys
  • You three are just bloody fantastic, you will have to do some more research on how they ended up there, brilliant video, and to finish on a very nice touch, the garden you have done there, and I've watched it from day one, people will come to that place and remember long after we have all gone, there is a lIttle clue there, like built by, date , and so on, and its a really nice thing you are doing,
  • 2nd 🥈 lol 😆 You lads are smashing the uploads and it’s deeply appreciated. Thank you so much. I could watch you lot on a night in eating a Chinese 🍜 you are really brilliant and it’s clear to see that your confidence is growing hugely and your way more relaxed. You just do your own thing. Big hugs lads 🤗 you’re bloomin brilliant 💙
  • Just read the Burnley Express article from 2019, you guys are legends, what you have created and are maintaining is totally awesome, its a gift to future generations, the environment and nature, as well as the main reason you did this, to remember the poor souls who perished, ensuring they will never be forgotten at the site. REspect.
  • Top video lads. Just found your channel. My gran was the nurse who went down the Hapton Vallery Colliery to save the miners, Maud Waggott. Well proud of her.
  • Brilliant job lads getting that old pit tub and taking it to the memorial garden.. Just a idea. lads were you got the pit tub from there was some old pit belt why don't you cut a piece and lay it at the bottom of the tub you can cut it to size when you get it there so you still can see the wheels and you can put the coal on top of that. That way you have 2 items that got coal up the pit in the early years the pit tub then later they used conveyor belts to load the tubs from the face. Also the garden looked great all lit up at night you've done a grand job there lads from xminer ste like i said in one of my early comments i worked with a few lads from Hapton valley they came to Golborne colliery after they closed the pit keep up the good work lads like i said you've mining in your blood and keep the videos coming really enjoy your videos ⛏️⛏️👷‍♂️💙 love all the banter lads typical miners banter 👍👍⛏️⛏️

shite. I just spit my whiskey out seeing you pull yourself up with the nettle. I scrounger a pair of tub or tram wheels out of the Rother near me. I'm eyeing up a second pair and plan to use large propane bottles cut and flattend out to make shallow tube sides. just need someone with two strong working arms, as I only have my left. lost the use of my right in a roof fall . However I'll struggle on till my diying days.🤔😀😉👍
  • Now lads, I think those loops would be where they attached chains to each cart, either to link them to move or as a safety catch to stop a runaway
  • I just bought an old miners lamp with scratchings on it from hapton valley , feels right to return it som
  • Haha nice one lads. We would of given ya a lift but we’re on our mini holiday campercar tour. In fact I reckon Collette would of just picked that up on her own, I’ve seen how much she comes out of B&M with, when she says she’s just nipping in for a pot noodle 😂
  • Alright lads don't know if you read my post from a day or two ago about the handmade pins I promised you pictures hopefully you get them ruler to give you the size they are amazing hey hand forged so small amazing! also it's Ian wimbles who has them he seems to find some unbelievable things!
