Dear Toyota, as a loyal enthusiast, I wanted to provide you with a little feedback. Change is hard, that's a no-brainer. However, your recent changes have stung your loyal fan base hard. You've deviated far from your founding principles and core values. You've developed a following of supporters unlike any vehicle manufacturer, better than Ford, better than GM, better Honda, you name it. Toyota fans love your brand for 3 PRIMARY reasons: 1) Reliability, 2) Simplicity, and 3) Affordability. By you delivering on these three things, you've been able to generate such loyal and devoted customers over the years. You've created generations of "Toyota Families" in the US because of these core principles. Why change that? Recently you've been offering complex, tech-riddled vehicles that cost a fortune to buy. Why?! The Toyota I grew to love took the approach of "less is more" and I miss that. Adding turbos and battery packs may "improve" performance numbers but it takes away what makes you special. The complexities of your modern Toyota Tundra, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, and Tacoma aren't what your enthusiasts wanted. We want simplicity at an appropriate price point.

So here is my message to you, Toyota. I'm with you no matter what, but I can't say the same for most of your loyal customers.

If you enjoyed this video, please consider Liking and Subscribing, your support doesn't go unnoticed... it means a lot. Thank you for tuning in!

Toyota always stood for reliability. That is why people were willing to shell out $2-3k more for a Toyota vehicle over the competition. If reliability drops to the level of the competition and the dealerships still want to charge they have always charged. This is poor management decision making.
  • People who were complaining about the old Tundra being ancient, low-tech, & thirty are now saying that they want the 5.7 back & the new infotainment is just too complex 😂. I get it, but this is quite humorous to me.
  • Toyota needs to get rid of dealerships and let. The customer buy direct from the manufacturer.

There is no way the Turbo 4 cylinder engines will last as long as the V6.

Enthusiasts make up what, probably 2% of their sales… Toyota just dont give a fuck anymore, it’s all about the money. Dealerships are not the clowns, it’s the consumers who are willing to pay those prices.

Stealerships destroy customer loyalty to any and every vehicle brand but the crux of your video about Toyota is spot on. These Toyota wounds are self inflicted unfortunately.

Agreed, here in Australia a midsize Toyota Hilux pickup 4x4 sells for $71,000 which is $20,000 more before Covid hit. They now sell the fullsize Tundra pickup V6 for $150,000. A Toyota Landcruiser sells for $150,000 also. We are all getting ripped off both here in Australia and America. 😢

I tried to buy a TRD Pro Tacoma from a dealer 50 miles from my home. They scheduled me to come in for a test drive. When I got there, they didn't give me the time of day, wouldn't let me touch the vehicle like it was the only one in the world. When I was obviously not happy with being told I could drive the truck then denied upon arrival the price jumped up with a 5k markup... I left and the next day I bought the new 2017 ZR2. I've never set foot in a Toyota dealer since.

Absolutelly agree with your words. Bring back the reliable 5.7 V8.
  • @thepdc6220
You forgot to add ordering process. Allocations suck. They need to sell direct and use dealers as service centers

Omg, I wish I could smash that LIKE button 1000 times. Man YOU NAILED IT. You said what I believe so many of us are feeling right now. I own a 19 Tundra TRD Pro that's paid for and there's no way on this earth I would part with it for the NEW Tundra for $25K to $30K more than I paid. Because of this video, you just gained a new subscriber my friend. Thank you for taking the time to deliver this message. I hope this video gets Millions of views and shares. Hats off to you brother.

Bonus points for abandoning American build of Tacoma and moving labor to Mexico, and pocketing the savings instead of psssing it on to buyers.

Lost me at $40,000. First car company that can offer me a fully loaded SUV at $30,000 gets my business. America is through with outrageous vehicle prices. Don't buy. Wait until a new car company comes along and swoops up your business. I hope these car companies don't get a bail out this time.
  • @lgbnz
Personally, I am disenfranchised by Toyota. see ya felicia
  • It’s a shame that Toyota switched over to the 6 cyl and 4 cyl engines with turbo’s! As a 43+ year service manager and owning about 50 new trucks and cars the 2 biggest problems is price and putting small engines with turbos in the trucks! You are spot on as an option🙌
  • This young man is correct. I have bought Toyotas my entire life, now they are way to expensive. I will buy something else.
  • @bizboomer
Your nailed it sir! The following may have contributed to the dealer abuses of customers: 1. Toyota, like most other manufacturers, has required dealers build Taj Mahal facilities that increase overhead that customers pay for 2. Shrinking gross margins from the factory force dealers to find others ways to make profits 3. Too much focus on high tech loaded vehicles that customers are convinced they must have and thus pay for 4. Too many layers of dealership employees add to overhead customers must pay for The only way to force meaningful change is to stop buying these products at these insane price levels. Just say no.
  • @TrdPro99
I agree with all of this, however, the non-V8, turbo, auto start/stop features, active fuel management etc problem isn’t the car manufacturers, it’s the EPA pushing the car manufacturers to meet ridiculous emissions and greenhouse gas targets. Our government has pushed car manufacturers into making cars we don’t want. Just my .02¢

Great video my friend .I'm a Toyota fan myself. I have a 1996 Tacoma extra cab with 278,000 miles on it and it runs like a top. Everything just works. AC,windows ,even the original radio with tape deck . Your words are true my friend. They need to remember what made them great and get back to it. 🤠🇺🇸

You Sir have hit the nail RIGHT ON THE HEAD!!!! Try this one for size.... we purchased a NEW 2005 Toyota Tundra from Burnsville Toyota in Burnsville MN in 2005. It is a SR5, V-8 TRD, Double Cab, 4X4. We left General Motors after a lifetime of loyalty. Chevrolet would not fix a defect in a NEW Chevrolet Z71 4X4 so we told them to pound sand and traded for a loss to get our Tundra. We fell in LOVE with our new Toyota, so much we purchased a second one a few years later. Fast forward to the RECALL/REWORK where the NTSB forced Toyota to do for IMPROPERLY coated frames from the factory. The Recall gave Toyota 2 options. One was inspection and spraying the frames, the other is the Frame Replacement. We brought our Tundra in to Burnsville Toyota for the Recall/Rework. They inspected the frame and SPRAYED it rather than replacement as as an option in the NTSB Recall. Shortly after the dealer performed the rework, the coating they sprayed on was coming off with RUST on both the coating and Frame!!! For MANY YEARS we have asked BOTH Burnsville Toyota and Toyota Motors of America to perform the CORRECT Rework and replace the Frame as outlined in the NTSB Recall of our Tundra. For years, BOTH have told us to pound sand!!! They tell us the Rework has been performed and that's all they are going to do. Since the spray coating started to fall off showing rust, we have asked the dealer (same one for all service, repairs & warranty - purchased from them) to inspect the Frame for the rust issue and report on the invoice. It was hit or miss weather they would do it or document it. The LAST TIME we brought our Tundra in was for the routine oil change service. I had noticed not one, but two (2) large RUST HOLES in the Frame of our Tundra. This is EXACTLY what Toyota had to do the RECALL for and why we were asking THEM to REWORK, THEIR DEFECTIVE Rework, and replace the frame. After the Oil Change service, as the Service Writer was walking me to our Tundra, I was looking over the Invoice checking for the frame inspection. They listed the request and the only thing under it for Work Performed was three letters. They were NVP. I asked the Service Writer if the Frame as inspected for the Corrosion issue that caused the RECALL. He informed me that it had in fact been done for us. I asked what they found and as told it should be on the Invoice. When I told him it said "NVP" he said that's No Visual Perforation! It was at this time I, being Disabled, and having to use a Cane to walk, stuffed my Cane tip in one of the holes and said "oh really, what's this". The Service Writer took a look, his eyes got huge and left saying he'd be right back. He returned with the Service Manager. This was like the 3rd (or so) Service Manager to hold this position since they SCREWED-UP our Tundra and performed the WRONG REPAIR/DEFECTIVE WARRANTY REPAIR! He looked at it and asked who wrote it up. The Service Writer said he did. Then he was asked who worked on it. The Service Writer told him, to which he said that Tech is NOT qualified to do a Frame Inspection. The Service Manage left and came back with an updated page for our Invoice indicating rust had been found. WOW..... this is bad, we have been telling them this for many years and now a Service Manager is taking notice! I asked for him to champion a Frame replacement for us with Toyota Motor Company USA. He said he would and then follow up. Weeks went by and nothing so we called. ONCE AGAIN, POUND SAND, they did the Recall/Rework and that's ALL they have to do! A DEFECTIVE Frame from TOYOTA during the manufacture of this Tundra ALONG with the WRONG/DEFECTIVE Rework has left us with a GREATLY DEVALUED and UNSAFE Toyota Tundra! YES, for the KEYBOARD warriors in their Mom's basement that will say I'm a moron for thinking Toyota will do something on a 20 year old Truck I say this, Toyota & Burnsville Toyota BOTH screwed the pooch on this one back when this truck WAS COVERED under the Warranty/Recall. BOTH Toyota & Burnsville Toyota have shirked their responsibility in the DEFECT/issue. BOTH did WRONG and NEED to make it right! BOTH performed DEFECTIVE work! If they performed the correct repair, our 20 year old Tundra with 110,000 ACTUAL miles would be worth what the outward appearance suggests. The truck is in EXCELLENT condition for a 5-10 years old truck, let alone a 20 year old one! Word of mouth.... BEST or WORST advertisement a company can have!!!! NEW FRAME AT N/C Toyota..... you can still make it right and SAFE!!! Happy & SAFE customers is what you want, RIGHT? STILL waiting after all these years Toyota!!!! Do the right thing!!!! We're in the market for a new vehicle, Toyota..... we'll see how they handle this!
