Eurovision if Each Country was Only Allowed to Win Once (1956-2022)

"I really want a country who's never won before to win next year" ...well be careful what you wish for (or not...) because this is a compilation of the highest placing song in each year starting from 1956 if you remove all the countries that already appeared in the video!

If a year is missed out it means every single one of its participating countries already won using this system... so in this alternate reality we could say those years were cancelled. The only countries who still don't end up winning are Andorra, Slovakia, and Serbia & Montenegro (but you could perhaps argue they would win in 1992)? It's up to the other 2 countries to return or a new country to debut for us to have a new winner in this universe.

I hope you enjoyed the video, and please comment down below whether you prefer these winners to the actual winners!

    If the countries reset after 2016: 2017 🇵🇹 2018 🇮🇱 2019 🇳🇱 2021 🇮🇹 2022 🇺🇦 2023 🇸🇪 2024 🇨🇭 The moment it stops just being a direct copy of the winners is when one of them wins again
  • It would have been funny to see after 2016: "Eurovision will not be held anymore because we're out of possible winners" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  • I just turned on the video and I already know what I'm hyped about: whether or nor Morocco's gonna win.

I loved this idea! It also really showcases how many countries have participated in Eurovision until now!

And this is how i find out that there have been TWO songs about and called Mata Hari in Eurovision
  • @Falconeggplant
I have to admit that I like a world in which Katja Ebstein is an Eurovision winner.

I cant believe our first win would've been Jennifer Jennings and it was originally SEVENTH There is also a fun fact about this song: apparently artists werent allowed to move during their performances at that time but he was so enthusiastic about his own chorus that he started a dance move but immediately stopped when he realised and I find that so lovely

If only Slovakia had scored 8-9 more points in 1998, then North Macedonia could've got it in 2012, Belarus in 2013 and San Marino in 2017, LOL. Also, Serbia & Montenegro missed winning by 13 and 11 points in 2004 & 2005 respectively.
  • Imagine Norway winning in 1976 being last😂😂 With this random wins of the recent years, San Marino is the only one that deserved it for real

I have an idea, but I don't know if it's possible to do - if only songs sung in their native languages would win
  • @zdrak2
Say what you will about this method of determining winners, it allows Ilanit, Katja Ebstein, Zdob si Zdub and Valentina Monetta to be counted among the winners, so I'm all for it!

a world in which boonika bate toba is a eurovision winner is the correct world tbh. zdob si zdub are esc royalty and they deserve at least one crown
  • It would be handy if you inserted a list of all the "cancelled" years at the end. Nice video!

So glad I downloaded Bosnia 1999 before it got purged. Same thing has happened to other ESC entries from the 90s. What are they trying to achieve?

We need Slovakia and Andorra to return, and Kazakhstan and Kosovo to make their debuts at Eurovision!

San Marino winning in 2013 makes sense with my fantasy. 😍
  • @in_wino_veritas
Sad to see that neither Andorra nor Slovakia would have won, even under these conditions.
