As a person that spent a lot of time in the ocean growing up surfing on a daily basis, I have to admit that my fear of running into a shark let alone a great white shark was never on my mind but now that I don't surf anymore seeing these great whites nowadays with the technology and drone footage they scare the hell out of me and I was imagining myself being on your boat by myself I would've been scared shitless!

12:41 for the first GWS sighting! Got my heart racing even from behind the screen! Nice one!

I grew up on the coast of Maine & used to be a commercial fisherman in the Gulf of Maine. It absolutely blows my mind thinking of the amount of times I jumped off a boat miles offshore for a swim, swam off of islands in mid coast Maine, etc. without the thought of anything other than dogfish & basking Sharks. Won't catch me doing it now! Since that fatal shark attack in Harpswell(which is about 15mi south of me) in 2020 & hearing population estimates off new england approaching 900 individuals- I really cannot believe what we used to do!

This is one of those epic episodes where everything gets along smoothly with surprises along the way. We're highly entertained!
  • I felt like this was a fever dream 😂 from seeing a great white, dolphins, and a jet fly by to getting some great catches.....what a day out on the ocean

That's one of those magic days you'll never forget. The coolest thing for me was you understanding what the fish wanted and changed your tactics to get the wahoo. True signs of a great fisherman.

This is what i love about Rod. Has an epic encounter with what was a full size great white and handles it like he's been there before. No over sensationalism, no running around like an idiot, and nothing but respect. Here in the Florida keys I have seen some big tiger sharks but that great white would be an amazing moment. Great catches and amazing job with the cameras/drone. Cheers man. Try not to let the cobwebs accumulate on your wonderful boat Rod.
  • Been watching for quite a long time and I have to say that this episode had it all. So very happy for you. You deserved every bit of it whether it was the great fish caught, the dolphins and shark, or the fighter jet flybys.

I didn’t realize that I was holding my breath and on the edge of my seat until you brought that big fish in. Once it hit the bottom of your boat I finally breathed. I’m not a fisher person and was not aware of how hard you have to work to bring in a fish! Super fun to watch, thank you for sharing your day with us.

Such a pure film that I could smell the ocean..and I'm in the middle of the USA. The sounds of the water slapping the boat and your very real video..awesome..thanks for sharing.

The thing that amazes me the most is how social creatures they are. I mean that shark is directly interacting with that guy.

Just happened upon your channel for first time. What a day….amazingly beautiful!! Love the overhead and underwater shots- those are the best!!!
  • That feeling when you cast off in the morning hoping you'll have a day like this is one of my favorite things about fishing. Fantastic vid (loved the editing), keep up the good work hombre.

"We're going to need a bigger boat".... Shark - "Hmmm, I wonder if I can tip that boat over and eat that nice squishy thing on top of it?"
