The 22-year-old's murder is making national headlines, but other, similar cases haven't received the same attention.

The media complaining about the media on not covering when POCs go missing is bizarre.

This is what you would call a perfect example of hypocrotical scapegoating, a problem the Media started in the first place.

As a black person all that matters to me is that there's a grieving mom and dad out there without their daughter. I pray for their healing and strength

It’s crazy to think that someone who works at the top, read over this and said: “yup this is good to go on the air”
  • ABC so you’re not gonna take any responsibility? I mean… you kinda ARE the media, so are you gonna start covering those cases you just named 🤔🤔🤔
  • I agree, EVERY missing person is important and worthy of being searched for.

Every innocent missing person deserves media attention. It's devastating😞

Maybe Joy Reid needs to practice what she preaches and start posting missing reports on every single case every day.

Not the media reporting about how the media has not been doing their job. 🙄 The Spongebob Wanted Maniac meme comes to mind.

Why in the hell is the media complaining about how the media is doing their job

Prayers to all the babies, children and other people that are missing!

How heartless do you have to be to see a missing murdered girl and get mad because she's not your color.
  • @paulmicks7097
what about missing children ? never discussed except rare times
  • @bretclaar1663
That’s like if I drink and drive then hold a press conference telling people they shouldn’t drive while I am hammered

The media: Does their job poorly. Also the media: Why doesn't the media do their job properly?
  • @berad3574
If this is true, the media also has a case of “criminal black man killed by police” syndrome.
  • @jsrb203
The media doing a segment on how they contribute to this mentality.

This missing or murdered white woman syndrome definitely exists and every time I see and hear about cases like Gabby then I always think about those who went missing way before she ever did and nobody's ever heard about them. Their families are still without answers and may never get any answers because nobody is putting in the efforts to cover these cases and/or willing to use all their resources just to look for them. When I saw the press conference when they found Gabby's body and I saw the guy choking and tearing up as he was visibly shaken up having to talk about this to inform the public, it also made me think of how many children of color have been found dead and none if the spokes ppl for the authorities got so choked up, had to hold back tears like in Gabby's case and other white women/girls cases. Now it's not Gabby's fault and nobody is trying to minimize what happened to her and what her family must be going through right now. I just think it's unfair to the other ppl and children who went missing, who didn't get the same attention and especially their families who have to wonder for the rest of their lives. It's brutal and unfair to say the least and especially if you put your foot into their footsteps. The pain and the void that they must be feeling is almost unbearable 💔 😪 We're ALL human beings with loving families who'd do and give anything to get their voices heard and should be able to get the same coverage and attention as cases like Gabby's case. May Gabby rest in peace and hopefully her case will have impact in other cases which are still unsolved due to the color of their skin 🙏

"And what about the many others missing?" i've been saying since the beginning of this story... Let's FIND THEM ALL and return them to their families! 🙏
