Denzel could get an oscar just reading a phone book.. the man is truly a legend.
  • Colbert is the only late night show host who could pull this off. Literature banter with The Denzel Washington.

To see Denzel being emotional when he was talking about his mom being there for him every night makes me ❤ him even more!

The humility and simplicity of Denzel reiterates his greatness.

Colbert being able to casually quote Shakespeare and engage with Denzel Washington about it is such a big flex. Legendary talk show host with a legendary actor.

When Stephen is whipping out the lines and Denzel gets all into it and then feeds words to trigger lines - That was magical, that was great.

One of the greatest actors ever, simple way to describe Denzel Washington
  • He's a legend. Hard to not like him. He's a master at playing real life characters.
  • Stephen and Denzel chemistry just truly gelled. Denzel is not always this bursting when being interviewed. Stephen is an intelligent man that stretches you. I loved the humble tears of Denzel. Go Mr. Washington. Will see Macbeth 👀

We love Denzel in the UK. He's so cool. Not full of himself. Just funny, clever, and a brilliant actor

Colbert is incredible. He rapped with Nicki now he’s quoting Shakespeare with Denzel.
  • On the one hand, it's kind of sad seeing all my childhood heroes getting old. On the other hand, it's nice how many of my childhood heroes are still around.

Seeing even Denzel get such joy out of Colbert's rendition of Shakespeare gives me joy.

Who remembers Denzel when he was on St. Elsewhere? Even then he just blew everyone away with his acting. He was, is and always will be the GOAT.

The origin of the Macbeth legend, at least as far as I know, is that when a theatre troupe thought the planned play was a disaster or something was terribly wrong (to prevent the planned show) then Macbeth was the "default" show that was put on, every theatre troupe knew the play so it was the filler in case of disaster. As a result to mention Macbeth was to imply that the scheduled show would be a catastrophe, thus the legend that Macbeth signified disaster on the stage.

He had a tear in his eye just after he got on stage and everyone was cheering. Edit: After he says Merry Xmas.

When he said I’m a God fearing man. Respect than man
  • He is a legend and deserves every bit of adulation he gets. And a sense of humor too… wow!
  • Colbert should do more theatrical moments with great actors. The interplay of the two was great fun.
