First time hearing DIMASH KUDAIBERGEN - SOS (Live Performance) REACTION!!

Hi from Italy. This performance dates back January 2017, when Dimash was 22. He was invited to this competition of professional singers as a wild card. This very performance transformed him into a legend in China and other Asian countries. With over 600 million views on Weibo in a matter of few days. Dimash is now very popular in Asia, East Europe, and he has a huge fan base worldwide, including a very active fandom in Latin America. He was trained in classical and contemporary singing techniques, he started at 5 years old, continuing to study to these days academically also in composition and musicology. He sings in at least 13 languages, mainly Kazakh, Russian, Mandarin. Since he rose to fame in 2017 he has been working and touring tiressly. You may not believe it but now he is even better. He is blooming into a spectacular artist, a stunning performer and an insanely beautiful man (I cannot not see this. I am a woman). He stopped touring for 2 years because of the pandemic and every Dear (that is how he calls us, his fans, because we are dear to him - we love him 🥰) was waiting for his return. I love it! That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home. Despite Dimash's planned brief presence, his name was intended to be symbolic and understandable to the public. Dimash was given the Chinese name Dimashi and the 3 syllables were assigned in Chinese characters: ⭐Di - achievement ⭐Ma - precious stone ⭐Shi - dream, wish. This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door. The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to Youtube ... and so we became Dimash's Dears. The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won). You just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages, plays multiple musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in music. He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask) has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion “ 2018 and then "Stranger" 2021, "Ikanaide" 2021, "Adagio" 2017, "Daybreak" at Bastau 2017. Each performance will leave you stunned.

The guy in the back room said 'Wowwww. I got goosebumps. I'm shocked.' He was the singer of a Chinese group called the Lion Band. There were 14 episodes pitting professional singers/bands against one another. Dimash, a wildcard act from Kazakhstan, won that first round and 2 more rounds in the competition. Eventually another singer Sandy Lam just managed to get a few more points overall and pipped him at the post for first place. She is an incredible singer too, was well known and well loved all over China and had millions of fans already, whereas Dimash was a complete unknown. (Anyway, a foreigner couldn't be allowed to win, it was against the rules of the show. That rule has since been lifted). Despite that Dimash was an overnight sensation in China and had to have bodyguards to leave the hotel the next day. He became an instant superstar and stayed in China for another 3 years.
