Disney’s biggest mistake is assuming that constantly raising prices and making consumers pay for things that were FREE should be number #1 on the list. And this is coming from someone who was born and raised a Disney lover.

I've always felt that completely scrapping Beastly Kingdom at Animal Kingdom was a mistake. Pandora is cool, yes, but man did they have so many amazing, creative possibilities for a fantasy animal area's attractions. And unlike Pandora/Avatar, dragons and other fantasy creatures have an enduring cultural impact that has already proven the test of time. Maybe expand the park to finally include it.

You forgot about The Enchanted Tiki Room: Under New Management

I would add Bob Chapek as one of Disney’s greatest failures.
  • @WilliamGemstone
I'd like to personally apologize to all the viewers for Offhand Disney's failure to mention Bob Chapek as the greatest Disney Park fail of all time. Including the future. Also removing the McDonald's fry wagons.

"every restaurant I ever went to in New York was French". WHAT LOL
  • @tiggeraxton
Biggest mistake in my opinion is that they’ve never made Jim Hawkins from treasure planet a permanent appearance at the parks, simply stays rare.
  • @cattinker
In the finale room of small world in Florida, there used to be a sad clown doll in a hot air balloon holding a sign that said “help.” They changed it years ago and I’m still disappointed.
  • i’ve never realized eisner was reading off cue cards for the opening day speech of DLP lol

Getting rid of the classic Epcot music loop would be on mine. Yeah, I expected it to go when they announced the Future World remodeling and thanks to YouTube I could pull them up if I wanted to listen to them, but it’s sad knowing the next time I go won’t be able to hear those awesome tunes while walking around. It’s just part of the experience, you know? Oh, and also what they did with Spectromagic. That still hurts.

I still think Disney made a huge mistake changing DCA’s Tower of Terror into Mission Breakout. They wanted to add a Guardians of the Galaxy ride? Fine. They could’ve built something new from the ground up. They didn’t have to close my favorite attraction! 😢

I haven't even been to Disneyland Paris, but the idea of (halfway) retheming the Paris Space Mountain from Jules Verne to Star Wars just seems unforgivable to me. They had something utterly unique that arguably saved the whole park and they made it more cookie-cutter.
  • @perks1971
The thing that surprised me most about this video was that Superstar Limo didn’t get its own standalone entry. :-) Nice videos, man! Thanks!

For me, the biggest mistake was adding fastpass to specifically the Haunted Mansion in Anaheim. We already had enough of a problem with congestion in that area because of the line for Pirates that always snaked around the walkways and Haunted Mansion cleared a lot of the extra mess up because the line was like 15 minutes max and almost constantly moving. Then they added fastpass and now you're lucky if the wait is under 45 minutes and you can't find a single shady spot to enjoy because the line takes up pretty much all of it. Add in the insane lines for the limited edition popcorn buckets, sippers, and churros and the entire area of the park is just a sea of people which kind of ruins it for me. I used to be my favorite area of the park but now I try to get both those rides done as early into the day as possible so I can avoid that area for the rest of the day.

I wish Mr. Toads Wild Ride wasn't replaced at Disney Worlds Magic Kingdom
  • @tinomacchia5410
Hey Dallin, I completely agree with you on the Aladdin show. We are proud to say that not one but 2 different Jasmines from that show hired my band to perform for their weddings! One of them was Jasmine and Aladdin; they met while performing in the cast.
  • @ididabarrelroll
100% agree with the Aladdin take. Best live show ever and Genie was amazing every time.
  • Disney's biggest mistake was not building Beastly Kingdom and losing the imagineers to Universal. In all honesty I'm a Universal fan over Disney now. Since Disney World announced Tron, Universal has built two world class coasters in Hagrid's Magical Motorbike Adventure AND Velocicoaster. I can usually only afford a trip down to Florida every couple of years, so I go to Universal to ride new and exciting rides instead of going to Disney to see a Tron construction update for myself.
  • @itsmarinaglass
Would you consider covering Magic Journeys? Because I feel like a mistake Disney has made in general is not taking risks with artistic experimentation anymore. It goes hand and hand with Journey into Imagination, but the story of actually setting it up in Epcot is kind of crazy. Mark Eades is an under appreciated hero.
  • @perciusmandate
I like how most of this list is just... anything Eisner touched.
