In this video we dive into the uncomfortable, painstaking, and sometimes dangerous makeup prosthetics that actors and actresses have had to deal with. This list of fifteen actors addresses everything from the amount of time it took to get the actors into their makeup looks to the hard, painful realities that some actors had to face when dealing with makeup mishaps. The biggest factor in an uncomfortable makeup and prosthetic application process has got to be the amount of time it takes to transform these actors into their characters. Makeup application time can run from two to ten hours of sitting and waiting for their makeup transformations. The list of actors who had to deal with these challenging circumstances include Jennifer Lawrence, Zoe Saldana, Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway, Anya Chalotra, John Rhys-Davies, Jacob Tremblay, Karen Gillan, Ryan Reynolds, Kae Alexander, Halle Berry, Naomi Grossman, Vladimír Furdík, Paul Bettany, and Jim Carrey. All of these actors faced challenges when it came to their makeup applications and their use of prosthetics. From allergic reactions, to long hours waiting to have their makeup completed, to uncomfortable acting conditions, each of these stars dealt with the hardships that come along with the hair and makeup department in Hollywood. Realizing just how much their on-screen makeovers affected them makes it just that much more impressive that all of these actors were able to deliver such great performances. So think twice before you judge their work; it might have been a lot harder than you think!

Man I can never watch these kind of movies again without feeling sorry for the actors knowing this
  • And what about the makeup artist? They also stand around for 3-10 hours and under a lot of pressure and expectations Its rude what Ryan did lollll
  • @restock_1731
If someone wanted to put make-up on me and pay me millions of dollars, I'd be okay with that.

So dramatic Angelina: it was like living a childhood fantasy Narrator: She was screaming and claimed to have horrible immense pain
  • @junebug435
"Soooo painful for 9 hours on this poor childs head did i mention how painful it was " Child, cheerfullly: "It was like a nice cozy blanket on my head"
  • this makes me feel bad for the make up artists though. the actors at least get paid in millions or even billions but the make up artists have to stand around for hours applying and removing their makeup while some actors doesn't even have the good manners to appreciate their effort.

What about the makeup artists? I’m curious how early they would have to come in and set up their makeup.

Now I get why Jennifer Lawrence hated her mystique role.... if my skin was irritated and having rash and boils from the paint, I would be mad too

I am a special effects makeup artist and it is so challenging for the actors and models, I also want to bring to like how hard it is on our body too, we are hunched over for hours on end applying this stuff and it is not easy to work with, not to mention the continuity that is so detailed and has to be perfect, my brain is fried after a day working on a film set. I appreciate all makeup artists of people who have had to sit in the makeup chair immensely.

Not gonna lie....but I feel the pain she's feeling in the thumbnail lol 😂😂😭
  • What Ryan Reynolds did was not cool. I get that it must be frustrating to keep that make up on for so long but think about the makeup artists, they had to STAND for 10 hours and not just that but also apply all that makeup with perfect precision. Do you know how exhausting that can be?

FORCED TO WEAR...uhm excuse me..more like paid to wear? Edit: This keeps getting likes, thanks btw😂

Seeing Angelina Jolie with or without make up is Easter for me everyday.

  • @lilymarine2059
I feel so bad for them, but just saying they’re SO GOOD ACTORS!
  • Me: doesn't care about any of them Also me when Jacob Tremblay pops up: OMG HE IS IN A BLANKET HE IS SO ADORABLE
  • @lilliank3542
What Ryan did wasn't a "prank". It was being a downright jerk! Those makeup artists worked long hours, trying to get every detail right, and he just ripped it all off!
