I got into Gorillaz 5 years ago. So I missed most of this stuff. I love this lore series! Learning that my boy 2D tried to get a law degree is the cutest thing ever. 🥰

I think the Boogeyman was the one who gassed 2-D, the shadow on the door looks like him.

The one thing that still puzzles me is that in the Stylo and On Melancholy Hill video cyborg noodle has a bullet hole in her head. But while on tour she doesn't have a bullet hole in her head. Then in Rhinestone Eyes she has one again in the same spot. Is that saying Stylo happened after the tour and she got shot while trying to escape the live band who are a part of the black clouds which is also why Stylo is shot full of holes. But Stylo was the first single they released so it wouldn't make sense. (maybe I'm over thinking a small detail)

Even though I didn't discover Gorillaz until 2017, I can say that it is my favorite phase, even more than Demon Dayz, the music, art, and lore is simply captivating, thank you for making this video!

So many things that other videos have glossed over (and I definitely need to go listen to those Murdoc radio shows, they sound like a blast). Maybe murdoc made a deal with the boogieman for him to bring 2-D to plastic beach. That could be what the deal was. Thats why we see boogieman in the video

While the video is a great narration of events, it contains quite a significant misconception in regards to the events of Rhinestone Eyes: the attack on Plastic Beach after the World Tour and the release of The Fall was not the one shown on the storyboard film for RE, but a second one.

The Battle of Rhinestone Eyes happened around very late November-very early October, before Mudz, 2D and CN went on to the ETPB tour (the shows before are not considered part of the tour itself). This was enough to damage the island significantly, but it wasn't what caused them to split up their ways. This was when Russel and Noodle met the other folks (and when all those pictures were taken). The 2 didn't go on the tour with the other 3 because 1. Neither of them knew the album and 2. Russel was still a giant (they technically played a part through, during the recording for the visuals for Broken).

The one that caused them to split up and go on their separate ways was a different one, which happened on the 8th of April 2011 while Murdoc (along with) 2-D were broadcasting the fifth episode of Pirate Radio regarding the recent commercial release of The Fall.
