Ricky gervais has long been someone I've looked up to, his incredible ability to manoeuvre between comedy and heartfelt drama has stood him out as one of my favourite creators. However he's not been without his controversies..

He’s not hated in Hollywood, he’s hated by Hollywood.
  • @DPSFSU
I'm pretty sure James Corden is the most hated universally.
  • @Rondo2ooo
If you are hated by Hollywood as an actor nowadays, you are on the right path.
  • Ricky seems to understand what really matters in life. He doesn’t take himself too seriously & he enjoys being outrageous. I love that this is a man with a soft heart for animals.

Being hated in hollywood automatically means you're a decent human being

14:11 "Twitter is like being able to read every toilet wall in the world." Very well summarized 🤣

"to lead the orchestra, you've got to turn your back on the audience..." the wisdom from this guys is incredible....

The fact that Hollywood hates him should tell you how amazing of a person he is.

If Hollywood hates you, it's a HUGE badge of honor. Ricky is a very talented comedian. He is one of very few stand-up comics that I would go out of my way to watch. He's both hilarious and honest. He doesn't participate in celebrity worship, so he doesn't pander to them. He calls them on their bulls hit & it a beautiful thing. He is a national treasure that every Brit should be proud of.

My first contact with Ricky Gervais was in GTA IV. It was the first english-speaking comedian I ever heard. You could go to the comedy club in Liberty City and at the time I didn't know that Ricky is a real person. But I stayed in this virtual theater and laughed the whole time.

Ricky Gervias is a legend not just for his comedy but for his openness and "I don't give a f*ck about what other people think" attitude. He doesn't bend the knee to anyone and sticks to what he believes. May he continue to be what he is and continue to be successful.

If Hollywood hates him. You know He’s a legend

I think the main reason a lot of other celebrities are scared to be like him is because they're famous off the backs of others. Agents, Producers, Directors, all have a bit too much control on celebrity careers, and Ricky built an empire aside from that as much as any famous person really can. He's worth tens of millions, and nobody can stop him

His technique of making his actors just fall about laughing for the first few takes of a scene then when they are laughed out he gets the scene he needs is genius.
  • @alexclay6187
The irony of the person who created the Velma show saying the office is too edgy is the most hypocritical statement

Hollywood is still trying to recover from the gapping hole Ricky left behind whilst hosting the Golden Globes. One of the best things I've ever seen on TV. Ricky you are a legend.

I love him. He’s smart, compassionate and fucking hilarious. And his “no subject is off limits for comedy” is right on the mark.
